On Election Day morning, polling data from FiveThirtyEight shows Ohio voters favoring Trump by 8.3%, continuing his momentum from previous weeks. The former president led 52.1% compared to Harris' 43.8%.
The site provides an updated average for each candidate in the 2024 presidential polls, accounting for each poll's recency, sample size, methodology and house effects. Polling averages are adjusted based on state and national polls.
Ohio polling places opened at 6:30 a.m. and will close at 7:30 p.m., though Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose sent a message on X reminding voters to remain in line after 7:30.

Distinguished American University, Washington, D.C. history professor Allan Lichtman has correctly predicted 9 out of the last 10 U.S. presidential elections. Lichtman earned his doctorate from Harvard, specializing in modern American history and quantitative methods.
This year, Lichtman has predicted Vice President Kamala Harris will win the 2024 U.S. presidential election. "I've been doing this for 42 years and every four years I have butterflies in my stomach," he told USA Today. "This year, I think I have a flock of crows in my stomach."
