Tens of thousands of AC/DC fans are set to flock to Dublin as the rock legends take the stage at Croke Park. Tonight’s concert is particularly significant as it marks the final show of the European leg of their Power Up tour.

The 21-date journey across 10 countries kicked off with two shows in Germany on May 17 and 21, winding through Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, Belgium, England and France before culminating at GAA HQ on Saturday, August 17.

The band’s current lineup includes singer Brian Johnson, lead guitarist Angus Young, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, who is filling in for longtime bassist Cliff Williams.

AC/DC remains one of the most influential rock bands in history, having sold over 200 million albums worldwide. Their 'Back In Black' LP is the third bestselling album by any artist, with global sales exceeding 50 million and counting.

Tonight's show is their first in Ireland since 2015 when they played a sold-out performance at the Aviva Stadium.

If you're lucky enough to have a ticket, we’ve got all the essential details you need, including the expected stage timings and setlist.

Tickets are completely sold out for the concert, however Ticketmaster currently has some verified resale tickets available, currently priced from €70 each. You can check them out HERE.

Concertgoers are being urged to download their tickets from their Ticketmaster account to their iPhone wallet/ Google Pay wallet in advance of show day. Do not wait until you arrive at the venue as network coverage may not be available.

Screenshots or printouts of digital tickets will not be accepted. There are no ticket collections as E tickets are in use for this concert.

Gates to Croke Park will open at 5pm on Saturday and ticketholders have been urged to allow themselves plenty of time to get to the venue so as to get in well before the start of the show.

AC/DC will be joined at Croke Park by support act The Pretty Reckless, a rock band fronted by former Gossip Girl actress Taylor Momsen. The show is scheduled to get underway at 7pm, with AC/DC expected on stage at around 8.30pm.

An MCD spokesperson added that all times are subject to change, so fans have been advised to get to the venue 45 mins before the show starts.

Attendees can look forward to AC/DC playing all of their biggest hits at Saturday's show, with hit tracks such as Back in Black, Highway to Hell and You Shook Me All Night Long all set to get a runout.

While the setlist has yet to be confirmed, fans can get a sense of what to expect by looking at the setlist from the band's gig in Belgium last week:

AC/DC Croke Park Setlist (Belgium):

  • Rock 'n' Roll Train
  • Shot Down in Flames
  • Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be
  • Thunderstruck
  • High Voltage
  • Stiff Upper Lip
  • Riff Raff
  • Moneytalks
  • Evil
  • For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)
  • Whole Lotta Rosie
  • Let There Be Rock

Encore:

  • Back in Black
  • Highway to Hell
  • You Shook Me All Night Long

In some good weather news, no rain has been forecast for tonight, but attendees might want to bring a jacket, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 12C. Met Eireann's verdict on Dublin's weather is: "Mainly dry in Dublin Saturday with a good deal of cloud overall, though some sunny spells will break through. There is the chance of isolated light showers during the day. Highest daytime temperatures of 18C or 19C in light to moderate southwesterly winds. Dry on Saturday night with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 12C or 13C in a light westerly breeze."

The Last Stand: AC/DC's Legacy and Future

While 75,000 music lovers are lapping it up at Electric Picnic, diehard rock fans will gather to see the final show of AC/DC’s extensive European tour. And with good reason: this could be the last Irish gig by one of the world’s most successful rock bands. Never say never, of course, but with their sole original member, the school-uniform-wearing lead guitarist Angus Young now looking towards his 70s and Brian Johnson, their sandpaper vocalist, soon to turn 77, time might be against them. Not to worry: this is the band that brought rock songs such as Thunderstruck, You Shook Me All Night Long, Highway to Hell, Back in Black, Whole Lotta Rosie and the biblical Let There Be Rock into the sitting room and refused to let them out. What’s the betting on the All Roads Lead to Dublin T-shirts selling out? Safe, we’d say.
