Amanda Holden has shared her 'relief' as her daughter Lexi Hughes seemingly got the A-level results she wanted. The teen was among those up and down the country nervously finding out how they did in their exams on Thursday (August 15). The family are currently holidaying in Corfu but Lexi still received her results and Amanda appeared thrilled. Sharing a picture of the model on her Instagram Story, the mum-of-two said: "Congratulations to our @lexi.highes." Amanda, 53, went on to say: "We couldn't be prouder. All the grades and 1st choice uni [red heart emoji] What a bloody relief [crying laughing emoji]." She then revealed the restaurant created a last-minute cake to congratulate the 18-year-old's achievements.

Lexi's success comes after she battled a life-threatening illness while sitting her A-levels. The student, who is signed to Storm Models, was admitted to hospital with life-threatening E. coli amid the latest outbreak. Lexi was on a ward for five days with her mother and her father Chris at her bedside. However, Amanda admitted after taking her daughter to her GP, who insisted on her doing some blood and stool samples, the results came back as a bacterial infection. The star then revealed that while she was filming in Spain, she began to get calls from various government officials. They were asking her to fill out several forms about where her daughter might have eaten and what kind of food they had stored in their home. She also confessed that the antibiotics her daughter was given didn't seem to be working. Amanda claimed her doctor called her saying 'I don't want to alarm you' before telling her Lexi's bloods were 'through the roof' and she was in danger of 'contracting sepsis'. The Britain's Got Talent judge recalled how terrified she was to hear the word 'sepsis'. She revealed that Lexi's was the 113th case of E. coli in the country in just two weeks - and that the doctor had warned them that this was just the tip of the iceberg. Lexi, thankfully, made a full recovery.
