Arsenal scored twice in stoppage time to earn a dramatic victory over Leicester. A Wilfred Ndidi own goal in the 94th minute and a close-range Kai Havertz strike in the ninth minute of stoppage time denied a Foxes side who were within reach of an unlikely point at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal, who had earlier let a two-goal lead slip, were given a scare when Leicester City scored an equaliser in the 79th minute through James Justin. The Foxes had been the dominant side after the break, and looked set to take at least a point from the game until Arsenal's late surge.
The Gunners will go level on points with Premier League title rivals Man City if they can beat the Foxes. The victory means Arsenal will now face their next Premier League test against Southampton on 5th October knowing they will be in a commanding position in the table.
The Gunners are back on home soil in the Premier League this afternoon as they take on struggling Leicester at the Emirates Stadium. It has been an eventful week for the Gunners, who so nearly pulled off what would have been one of their most memorable wins of recent times and came agonisingly close to a major psychological boost in the title race before John Stones’ last-gasp equaliser secured a dramatic draw for Manchester City in a feisty battle in which Mikel Arteta’s side were reduced to 10 men.
Arsenal were accused of deploying some ‘dark arts’ in their quest for that unlikely victory at the Etihad, though their manager gave such criticism short shrift ahead of a midweek demolition of third-tier Bolton in the Carabao Cup in which the likes of Ethan Nwaneri shone. Arteta is still being plagued by injury problems ahead of Leicester’s visit, though David Raya and Jurrien Timber are both fit as Ben White misses out.
The Gunners will be expected to make light work of a Foxes side that are among the six teams still yet to register a top-flight victory so far this term and who needed penalties to overcome League Two Walsall in midweek, with Oliver Skipp and Facundo Buonanotte drafted in by Steve Cooper. Arsenal are still without Ben White as the right-back continues to struggle with a knee injury, but David Raya starts after an injury of his own.
Mikel Arteta is already without a host of his first team options, with Martin Ødegaard absent through injury alongside Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mikel Merino, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney, who are all nursing their own issues.
White's absence only adds further to their issues, though they are at least well-stocked in those positions.
Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber are deployed at fullback, while Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard accompany Bukayo Saka in the frontline.
Meanwhile, Leicester City recall Facundo Buonanotte and former Tottenham man Oliver Skipp as they seek their first win of the season.

Arsenal XI: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Rice, Partey, Havertz, Trossard, Martinelli, Saka
Who do you think comes out on top? Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber started at left-back and right-back respectively against Manchester City and should continue in these roles for the Leicester game.
The Italian started at centre-back against Bolton while Timber was rested but both should be fully prepared to start once again on Saturday. Both put in good performances against City and should be looking for consistent opportunities.
Consistent starts are crucial for Calafiori's development as a Premier League player. Timber also needs this consistency given he is still adapting to the league due to the long-term injury he suffered last season. The continuation of this full back duo will mean the omission of Ben White from the starting XI once again so Arteta will have to make that tough choice.
Regardless, it is likely Calafiori and Timber will be the starting full-back pair to face the Foxes.

Live and extensive coverage from Arsenal vs Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners look to get back to winning ways in the league
Arsenal will be glad to face what is on paper a kind home clash with relegation-threatened Leicester City, especially as their title rivals travel to St James’ Park to face Newcastle. It presents an opportunity for the Gunners to begin to build after they managed to remain unbeaten after their challenging opening five league games.
Matches with Southampton and Bournemouth are to come before Liverpool come to town. Plus, Mikel Arteta has the small task of managing his side before a Tuesday night meeting with French champions PSG in the Champions League.
There was good news on Friday afternoon when Arteta revealed both Ben White and Jurrien Timber will be with the team. However, there are question marks over whether David Raya will be ready – in his stead is summer loan signing Neto.
Tom Canton and Kaya Kaynak bring coverage from the Emirates Stadium including all the build-up to this evening’s game. Updates and team news to follow…
After his difficult weekend last time out this was a huge display from Leandro Trossard. Bukayo Saka's consistent set piece delivery needs praise, while Gabriel Martinelli briefly looked back to his best.

Phew! Arsenal win and take advantage of the Man City slip!
Kai Havertz has sealed it! Arsenal 4-2 Leicester City!
But the flag is up. Has Havertz scored.... VAR will check it.
This will count! it comes off the Leicester player!
IT IS THAT MAN AGAIN! WHEN YOU NEED A FINISH, YOU NEED TROSSARD!
At the back post from a corner the Belgian just stabs the ball at goal and Ndidi's leg sees it deflect in. What a relief!
Saka wins a corner this time.
Plenty of added time here.
Early cross from Saka meets the head of the German but he gets too much underneath it.
Calafiori this time with the header. Hermansen saves.
Nwaneri wins another corner. He is causing them all sorts of problems.
Straight into the fray and Nwaneri has had a great shot saved.
The young Arsenal starlet is coming on.
Thomas Partey is making way.
Skipp on a yellow stamps on Saka and gets away with it. The ref gives advantage which came to nothing.
This time Havertz wins the corner. Another big chance for the Gunners.
Poor from Saka and Leicester clear
Gabriel this time, low drive from the right into the hands of Hermansen. 15 to play.
Comfortable one from Rice, long-range and into Hermansen's hands.
Then Trossard has a shot and Hermansen saves again. He is on it today.
Martinelli is off and Raheem Sterling is on.
Gabriel Martinelli wins another corner.
Already booked Riccardo Calafiori takes down Buonanotte who is on a run. Thankfully he is not booked.
Okoli brings down Havertz in the box. Referee has nothing for it though.
Havertz spins and shoots in the box in what is a brilliant effort but Hermansen gets his gloves to it.
Arsenal back in control but need that goal. Saka wins a corner on the right hand side.
Trossard sees the ball fall to him in the box, he shoots left-footed and it is deflected for another corner.
Not good. This is a great goal from Justin however who volleys a cross round Raya and off the post and in.
The Argentinian drives down the left-hand side and cuts inside the box, shooting wide of the goal. A let off and a warning sign.
Great shot, Trossard thinks he has scored after a rebound falls to him in the box. But his deflected effort hits the post on the way through.
James Justin looked like he delayed Gabriel Martinelli taking a restart. Nothing is given and Arteta is fuming.
Kai Havertz fires over the bar from just outside the box. Better build-up from Arsenal but lacking the clinical finish.
Chance after chance in the box and eventually Timber fires over. Gabriel with the first header is saved, then a rebound header is spilled before the Dutchman fires over the bar.
Thomas Partey tries a cross into the box and the deflection is seen out by Trossard. Really good ball to Rice across the field in the build-up.
Another to follow as the follow-up from the first corner is headed out again.
Awful decision. Calafiori wins the ball from Buonanotte.
Now a yellow for Skipp as he brings down Martinelli.
Not the start to the half Arsenal will have wanted. Ndidi heads in a free-kick early in the second period.
Havertz turns his back and the deflection takes it past Raya.
