Aston Villa Signs Canada Goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo

Following the expiration of her contract with Arsenal, Aston Villa has declared the signing of Canadian goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo.

The 31-year-old native of Welland, Ontario has agreed to a two-year contract. She teams up with fellow Canadian Adriana Leon at Villa.

“We are excited to bring Sabrina to Aston Villa Football Club,” said Lee Billiard, head of Villa women's football. “She is an experienced goalkeeper that will help drive standards and create great competition within the goalkeeping unit. With her history of winning at both domestic and international level, we believe Sabrina is a perfect fit for helping us move forward.”

D'Angelo played for Arsenal for the past 18 months, making 15 appearances. Before that, she played for the Swedish team Vittsjo, the NWSL's North Carolina Courage, and the Western New York Flash.

D'Angelo has 16 caps for Canada and was a member of the 2024 Paris Olympics squad.

D'Angelo Brings International Experience to Villa

D'Angelo is a seasoned goalkeeper with a wealth of experience on the international stage. She has represented Canada 16 times and was a member of the squad that competed in the 2022 European Championship and the 2023 Women's World Cup.
