GRAB your cue sticks nineball fans as the US Open Pool Championship returns NEXT week with 256 players battling it out for the 2024 title - this includes Bary Hearn OBE and Andy Goldstein.

Ko Ping-Chung currently holds the crown after beating Fedor Gorst in last year's thrilling final.

And the defending champion will be determined to reclaim his title as the historic tournament makes its fourth consecutive appearance in New Jersey.

But Ping-Chung is expected to have a tough time in doing so, especially with the likes of Mickey Krause who recently lifted the European Open Pool Championship.

Furthermore, there will be $300,000 worth of WNT ranking points up for grabs across the field and the winner will receive a mega share of the prize pot if players don't have enough incentive as it is.

SunSport has all the information as well as the latest fixtures and results from the US Open Pool Championship.

When and Where is the US Open Pool Championship 2024?

The US Open Pool Championship 2024 is scheduled to start on Monday, August 19 before concluding on Saturday, August 24.

Match times will be confirmed as the tournament progresses but they are expected to get underway at around 2pm BST / 9am ET with play ending at approximately 2am BST / 9pm ET.

Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City, United States will host this iconic tournament for a fourth successive time and it can host around 1300 spectators.

How the US Open Pool Championship Works

The nineball tournament is a race to nine frames until the last 16 where it then becomes the first to 11.

There will be dozens of tables in action at a time as 256 players will be competing for the 2024 crown, however, it is a double-elimination competition which means that a defeat is not necessarily the end.

Loser rounds have been brought into play and they will be a race to eight.

How to Watch the US Open Pool Championship 2024

The earlier rounds of the tournament will be available to stream live through the official Matchroom Pool YouTube channel.

Sky Sports will also be broadcasting the action in the UK while fans in the US can watch the competition on DAZN.

Alternatively, SunSport will have all the results from the US Open Pool Championship through our live blog.

Who are the Wildcards?

The two new US Open wildcards Barry Hearn and Andy Goldstein were on TalkSport Radio on 30 April 2024 to speak about the tournament.

Barry Hearn said: “To walk out there and play against one of 128 players from the World Nineball Tour, which are the 128 best Nineball players in the world, is incredible… If I win one rack in the first round, I’ll sleep happy.”

Responding to Hearn’s doubts of either of the two doing well, Andy Goldstein said: “I think you underestimate me… I actually think I have a chance at winning it.”

What are the Stakes?

The US Open Pool Championship 2024 is a prestigious event with a massive prize pot of $300,000. The winner will receive a significant portion of this prize money, adding to the already high stakes of the competition.

This year's US Open Pool Championship promises to be an exciting event with plenty of action on and off the table. Keep an eye out for our coverage of the tournament and see if the wildcards can make a run for the title!
