Jessica Ennis-Hill was spotted hiding her fan with viewers saying the BBC studio lights were "burning" the Olympics pundit. The former heptathlete looked like she was struggling with the heat in Friday night's athletics coverage. As the camera quickly pointed back into the studio after the women's long jump eagle-eyed fans noticed something Ennis-Hill was trying to hide. The London 2012 gold medalist was spotted aiming a small fan at her. The fans on social media were quick to spot this sly move. One tweeted: "The studio lights burning Jessica Ennis up lmao." Another added: "Jessica Ennis with the most obvious attempt at slyly hiding her fan as they cut back to the studio." And Ennis was not the only one caught on the sly. Fellow pundit and four-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson was caught eating live on air as cameras panned back to the studio. As Ennis-Hill was chilling out Johnson enjoyed a bite to eat. Fans have shown the four-time Olympic champion a lot of love, with some describing him as a "legend". One viewer said of the American: "Michael Johnson is a sporting and broadcasting legend." Another added: "Early cut back by ⁦BBCSport⁩ and we’ve got ⁦@MJGold⁩ ordering a pizza." A third then put: "Best gang on TV - thank you!"

Caught Off Guard

The TV hosts were caught by surprise when they weren't aware the cameras were running. BBC Olympic star Michael Johnson was caught off guard while live in Paris, unknowingly broadcast eating and using his phone. The former 200m and 400m Olympic champion and world record holder has been leading the BBC's athletics coverage alongside co-stars Gabby Logan, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Denise Lewis. During the women's long jump, after Team USA's Tara Davis-Woodhall clinched gold, the cameras returned to the studio, where it was anticipated that the foursome would comment on the American's performance. However, Johnson was taken by surprise and had not yet finished eating. He also had his phone in his hand and microphone on the table, but adeptly swapped the items and joined in on the action - much to the delight of fans.

Professionalism Shines Through

The BBC selected Johnson to cover athletics due to his track expertise, and it proved a wise choice, as fans have praised the pundit's work and thoroughly enjoyed this casual awkward moment. The American and his trio of British colleagues were engrossed in the day's field events and were perhaps taken aback when their thoughts on the long jump were requested so swiftly, after the BBC switched from the men's javelin. This not only surprised Johnson, but also former Team GB gold medallist Ennis-Hill. The heptathlon legend was unexpectedly broadcast next to Johnson, holding a fan, trying to cool down in the studio. Logan's quiz on long-jump thoughts left her smiling and ready to comment, but not before Johnson showed his professionalism by finishing his last mouthful and delivering some expertise. The hilarious gaffe earned both Ennis-Hill and Johnson plaudits for their composure and humor.

More Than Just One Incident

Alongside them, the team including Logan, Lewis, and a host of other stars like veteran Clare Balding have been covering the Games, earning endless praise. Balding, in her eighth Olympic games, has been lauded for her work. Her illustrious career spans Channel 4 and BT Sport, and she's fronted coverage for major events like the Grand National, Commonwealth Games and Wimbledon. The team has also navigated us through some iconic moments for Team GB during these Games. Andy Murray's retirement from Tennis brought Balding to tears, making for an emotional watch for fans. Keely Hodgkinson's 800m win, carrying the weight of Great Britain, was presented by the crew. Katarina Johnson-Thompson finally standing on an Olympic podium was one of the highlights of the BBC's coverage of the eventful Games, which has seen many more golden, silver, and bronze highlights.

A Moment That Will Live On

BBC pundit Michael Johnson was caught eating live on air as cameras panned back to the studio. The former Olympic star and his colleagues were all caught off guard as producers cut back to them after the women's long jump. The BBC initially switched to the men's javelin before going to the studio to get the pundits' thoughts on Team USA star Tara Davis-Woodhall winning long jump gold. Presenter Gabby Logan and pundit Denis Lewis were ready to go but the same could not be said for Johnson or his fellow pundit Jessica Ennis-Hill. Former Olympic gold medalist Ennis-Hill was chilling out with a fan while Johnson enjoyed a bite to eat. He also had to put his phone on the table before picking up his mic, as did Ennis-Hill. The pair then exchanged an awkward glance as Logan questioned the trio about Davis-Woodhall's win. Ennis-Hill could not stop smiling as Johnson put his game face on and delivered the expertise that have won him a lot of plaudits throughout the Olympics. Fans have shown the four-time Olympic champion a lot of love, with some describing him as a "legend". One viewer said of the American: "Michael Johnson is a sporting and broadcasting legend. "He is an international treasure." Another added: "The BBC are so lucky to have Michael Johnson as an analyst." And a third wrote: "If the BBC published their salaries and Michael Johnson was top no one would mind."
