U2 frontman Bono paid a surprise visit to a Waterford pub on Monday with his wife Allison Hewson.
The legendary singer was in the Crystal County over the weekend to mark his bandmate The Edge’s wife Morleigh Steinberg’s 60th birthday party in the lavish Lismore Castle.
Prior to heading back on the road to Dublin, Bono and Alisson made the trip to Downeys Bar in Dungarvan on October 21, which is owned by his friend John McGrath.
Bono and his wife’s visit to Downey’s arrived as they planned to go to the nearby St Mary’s Church, Dungarvan, where U2’s late tour manager Dennis Sheehan is buried.
Mr Sheehan, who worked with U2 for over 30 years as well as with Led Zeplin and Iggy Pop, passed away following a heart attack suffered in Los Angeles in 2015.
‘They were on their way home from Lismore Castle after celebrating Edge’s wife Morleigh 60th Birthday Party.’
