Recalling the chilling Titanic mishap, a boy has claimed that he was the architect of the ship - Thomas Andrews - in his previous life and was killed on the ill-fated ship after it sunk in the Atlantic Ocean.
The child's mother shared the story of the reincarnation of the child on the LMN show "The Ghost Inside My Child", as reported by The Daily Star.
The mother of the boy, Jamey, said that he was terrified of swimming from his birth.
"Jamey would never go down past the stairs of the pool, and even if I would pick him up and take him out into the water, he would completely panic, practically choke you, begging you to take him back into the shallow part," said the mother.
A Titanic Obsession
The child started making spooky claims after watching the second half of the film Titanic. He drew different images of Titanic and spoke about the tragedy to his parents at the age of four.
His parents were left shocked when he pointed out what went wrong with the ship and what materials were used for building the Titanic.
Titanic's Construction & The Boiler Room Tragedy
"Jamey was completely distraught over the fact that the people in the boiler room died first like it was his fault that they were trapped," said Jamey's mother.
"He started talking about the accident itself and how it shouldn't have happened, that there were mistakes, there were corners cut and the men in the boiler rooms should not have been trapped. He would even cry about it," he added.
A Belief in Reincarnation
Slowly, his parents started believing that their kid had some connection with the ship's architect Thomas Andrews.
At the age of 19, Jamey spoke about him being an architect "because of the personality traits and what he did was what I would've done." "He gave himself up to let others off the ship," he said.
Jamey claimed that he is now "at peace knowing that he died on the Titanic" and "no longer feels like it's his fault."
Skeptical Viewers
The viewers were not really convinced by the boy's recollections of his past life. "I’d have believed this more if he started talking about Titanic BEFORE he watched the second half of the movie," said a viewer.
"Sometimes watching something so traumatic at a young age can really make an impression on you" and said that the Titanic film director James Cameron did a "fantastic job creating that movie," in how he depicted the ship," another viewer said.
"He sounds like a normal Titanic kid. We all got the interest at a very early age, all drew a bunch of Titanic drawings and most of us have a one point in time believed we were a reincarnation of one onboard," wrote a third viewer.
