It’s hard to say if Caitlin Clark believed she had something to prove after her controversial Team USA Olympic diss, but it sure felt like it.

Before her dominating and historic performance in a 98-89 victory against the Phoenix Mercury, the Indiana Fever rookie phenom floating into the arena full of smiles, crushing her pregame fit. Maybe Clark was ecstatic to finally be playing an actual game again after a month-long hiatus thanks to the Olympic Games Paris 2024

The midriff-showing blazer is especially baller, and it’s something that’s more utilitarian than Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrows' backless sports coat.

Also, the sporty basketball women have been owning cargo pants, with UConn’s Paige Bueckers, the Los Angeles Sparks’ Rickea Jackson, and now Caitlin Clark all wearing them to absolute perfection.

The 22-year-old Fever first-year sensation might be getting exploited by the WNBA with her way-below-market salary, but on the court Clark continues to improve as Indiana makes a playoff push.

Likewise, the one-woman WNBA ratings machine seems to be evolving into a style profile that matches her personality. Watch out!

During her limited time in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark has proven her penchant for suits. In July when she became the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double against the New York Liberty, she had graced the occasion with a Gucci suit, which got a lot of attention from fans. And now, when she is on the verge of making another record, Clark is seen donning a peculiar suit that drew a lot of flak from fans. The only peculiar thing is that this time her boyfriend Connor McCaffery is at the receiving end.

Clark had worn a white-striped blue color jumpsuit on Sunday before the game against the Seattle Storm. As per reports, the suit was priced at $826 suit. The top was $398 and the pants were $428. Another peculiar thing that caught the notice of fans was that Clark’s teammate Katie Lou Samuelson’s husband Devin Cannady pointed out by commenting on the post that it was Clark’s boyfriend Connor McCaffery who had styled her today. But that did not deter fans from expressing their true views. “Who tf is Caitlin Clark stylist?,” commented one fan. McCaffery must be hoping that the fan doesn’t get to know that he had styled her.

Meanwhile, Clark will take hardwood tonight in her fourth and final regular season game against the Seattle Storm. Already on her way to accomplishing three milestones, it will be interesting to see how Clark performs tonight. Firstly, she is on her way to having the WNBA rookie record by surpassing Ticha Penicheiro who had 223 assists. Next, if she scores two more three-pointers then she will be eclipsing Tamika Catchings (76 threes) as the Fever rookie with the most three-pointers in a season. Last but not least if Clark scores 10+ assists, she will take over the WNBA record for most 10+ assists for a rookie. Seems possible, doesn’t it?

When Clark began after the WNBA break, she scored 29 points with 10 assists and 5 rebounds, earning applause from all corners. Her loyal fans implied that Clark during the WNBA break had worked on her skills. Hence, this upcoming game will set the tone for the rest of the season. It remains to be seen if Clark has really worked on her skills and that was a watershed moment in her WNBA performances, or once in a blue moon display. The stakes are high since this is going to be a revenge game for Clark who has lost all the three games she has played against the Seattle Storm this season. Hence, breaking the record while taking her team to victory could be good redemption for the Fever rookie. Meanwhile, fans had different reactions to her outfit.

“How do you feel about Caitlin Clark’s min suits? I personally feel she wears them better than I’ve ever seen, still a weird cut though,” another social media user commented. The netizen was pointing to the fact that though Clark carries her suits with grace, they are still a little “weird” on the 22-year-old athlete.

“Caitlin stylist secretly an opp bc nobody in their right mind would let her walk out in these fits,” another fan took a hilarious dig at Clark’s stylist mentioning that the stylist was a rival to Clark and hence, never wanted her to dress the part. Looks like Angel Reese has found a friend in McCaffery.

“some blind *f probably,” another fan commented. The user was criticizing the stylist for an unusual retro sense of dressing. Looks like McCaffery will have to face much hate.

“TJ Max,” another fan took a dig at Clark opining that she was wearing suits that normal people wear. And hence subtly enumerating that there was nothing classy in her dressing sense.

“Oh God this woman is class 🔥,” one of Clark’s fans however came to her support expounding that it looked amazing on Clark. The user was pointing to the fact that Clark is known for her suits and it’s her specialty to don such clothes.

A 'Red Carpet' Entrance

Caitlin Clark has quite literally got her own red carpet at Indiana Fever with the WNBA team changing up the process of how players arrive for games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Fever made the most of the midseason break by rolling out a red carpet and a team logo alongside it, meaning Clark and her team can make a grand arrival for their games.

And Clark produced a performance fitting of such an entrance - leading her team to victory with 29 points in the 98-89 win on Friday night.

It was picked up on by Pacers and Fever reporter Scott Agness, who tweeted: 'Coming out of the Olympic break, the Fever now have a red carpet compete with a logo background for player arrivals.'

Clark has driven interest in Indiana's team to another level after being picked first in the WNBA Draft earlier this year.

The team's home games are almost nailed-on sellouts, while her presence has seen multiple games this season upgraded to NBA arenas that sellout.

The 22-year-old Clark returned to WNBA action Friday after a break of a month - she was controversially left out of the USA women's Olympic team that won gold in Paris,

Clark was overlooked because she missed practice due to her NCAA commitments with Iowa in the weeks before she made the move to the WNBA.

Fever are battling to make the WNBA playoffs, going into Friday's game 11-15 for the season.

Speaking before tipoff, Clark said: 'It gets you excited. We were 1-8 and if people thought we were going to go to the break at seventh place, a lot of people would’ve thought you were lying.

I probably would’ve thought you were lying, too. I felt like I was starting to get in a groove (before the break). I wanted to keep playing.

'I definitely feel more fresh, more prepared or whatever it is. There's definitely a balance, we have been itching to get back out on the court over the last week especially.'
