Celtic take on Hibernian in the last-16 of the Scottish League Cup on Sunday - kick-off 3pm.

There have been some shocks in the last-16 of the Scottish League Cup and Hibernian will be looking to add another one on Sunday.

They travel to Glasgow to face Celtic, with manager David Gray looking for a better result than the recent 2-0 defeat they suffered in the Premiership. Nicolas Kuhn and Callum McGregor on target for the Hoops that day.

The Scottish League Cup was the only trophy Brendan Rodgers didn't get his hands on last season and the Carnlough man will be hoping to put that right having lost at this stage last season against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

Can they avoid any slip-up against Hibs though?

Here's more info on the game and how to watch it.

The game is being played at Celtic Park on Sunday, August 18.

The game kicks off at 3pm.

The game is being shown live on Premier Sports 1 in the UK, with coverage beginning at 2.30pm. The game can also be streamed on the Premier Player. Those looking to subscribe to the channel can do so HERE for a monthly fee from £10.99.

The Hoops take on the Hibees for the second week running, this time at home and in the first knockout Cup of the season

Brendan Rodgers and Celtic booked their place in the quarter finals of Premier Sports Cup with a 3-1 win against Hibs.

The Hoops were hurting after last season's last 16 defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, but came quickly out the blocks to race into a 2-0 lead within 17 minutes. Daizen Maeda turned home Reo Hatate's cross and then doubled his tally minutes later, beating Josef Bursik at close range after latching onto James Forrest's pass.

Hibs were running the risk of getting blown away only to go into the interval with a lifeline thanks to a superb header from Mykola Kukharevych from Martin Boyle's free-kick delivery. But the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup holders regained the initiative after the break and a costly error in the Hibs back line allowed Nicholas Kuhh to force home a third goal to round off the scoring.

Celtic will face Falkirk at home in the last eight while David Gray's Hibs need to bounce back from three games without a win against Dundee at Easter Road in the league next weekend.

Team News & Lineups

Celtic:

Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, O'Riley, Hatate, Forrest, Kuhn, Maeda Subs: Sinisalo, Palma, Idah, Yang, Holm, Bernardo, Raltson, Welsh, Turley

Hibs:

Burski, Miller, Ekpiteta, O'Hora, Boyle, Newell, Obita, Moriah-Welsh, Campbell, Rocky, Kuharevich Subs: Smith, Levitt, C. Cadden, Amos, McKirdy, N. Cadden, Bowie, Megwa, Molotnikov

Brutally honest Brendan Rodgers admits he still doesn't know if Matt O’Riley will be a Celtic player at the end of the window amid an on-air grilling over the midfielder's future.

Europa League winners Atalanta have had multiple bids knocked back by the Hoops for the Danish star, the latest of which was worth £23million. Fellow Serie A side Inter Milan have also been credited with an interest, while Atletico Madrid and Brighton are also keen on the 23-year-old.

Hibs boss David Gray has bemoaned more individual mistakes that have left his team without a victory in their last three matches, shipping eight goals in the process.

We tweaked the shape a bit to stay in the game because Celtic were dominating and we were too passive. We get ourselves back into the game with a good header from a set piece which gave us a bit of belief.

The start of the second half was fine but an individual error has then cost us again. It's exactly the type of thing we have guarded against happening. It can't be accepted.

The Japanese star took centre stage by scoring two goals through the middle in Kyogo's absence, earning a rave review from his captan.

He was excellent. Obviously he has that pace at the top end of the pitch and makes brilliant runs. He is a dream for a midfield player and gets his goals. Big shoes to fill, but he done excellent.

Celtic's reward for their 3-1 victory against Hibs is a home tie against Falkirk for a place in the last four.

The tie will take place on the weekend of September 21/22.

Match Preview

Celtic have gotten off to a brilliant start in the league. In their opening two matches, the Hoops have scored six goals while conceding none and are in familiar territory, at the top of the table. Brendan Rodgers can be happy with how his side performed in both matches and now, he faces Hibernian for the second time in a week.

This match will be played in the Scottish League Cup. It is the luck of the draw that Celtic drew Hibernian in the competition at the same time as playing them in the league. Regardless, the Hoops will hope to keep up their win streak with another victory.

Celtic's Run To The Quarter Finals

Celtic have a home tie against Falkirk in the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup, which will take place on the weekend of September 21/22. The Hoops will be hoping to go all the way and lift the trophy after losing out to Kilmarnock last season.

The Story So Far

Matthew Marr has provided details on The Story So Far between Celtic and Hibs in the League Cup on The Celtic Star this morning.

Brendan Rodgers will be looking to put right the early shock exit in this competition last August down at Rugby Park, that being the ONLY domestic cup match he has last as Celtic manager.

Hibs will be trying to figure out how to lay a glove on the Champions after such a timid showing on their own patch last weekend where Celtic ran out comfortable winners after first half goals from Nicolas Kuhn and Callum McGregor.

Brendan Rodgers at his outstanding media conference on Friday afternoon advised that injury doubt Alistair Johnston should make it but Kyogo will sit this one out after his shoulder problem re-emerged at Easter Road. Mikey Johnston is missing today after that blow to the face from the Hibs goalkeeper. The second time in two matches that a keeper has flattened a Celtic forward without punishment.

Luis Palma will miss the game after taking a heavy knock against Kilmarnock on flag-day but should be fine for next Sunday’s trip to Paisley to face St Mirren.

New £9.5m signing Adam Idah will be in the squad with Brendan having to decide whether the Irishman is good to go straight away or alternatively if Daizen Maeda starts with Idah coming on after an hour.

It should be an entertaining match, and we can't wait to see how it unfolds. COYBIG!
