Fast casual restaurant chain Chicken Salad Chick has announced the opening of a new location in Catawba County, North Carolina. The new outlet is situated at 972 2nd Street Nebraska, Hickory. It will feature Chicken Salad Chick's signature offerings, including homemade chicken salad flavours, side salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts, with options for dining in, outdoor seating, take-out, kerbside pickup, delivery and catering.

The Hickory branch, co-owned by Allison Anderson and Sunny Murtaza, marks the chain's 17th location in North Carolina and promises to deliver Southern hospitality and community engagement. Originally from Chilhowie, Virginia, Allison Anderson relocated to North Carolina to open her Chicken Salad Chick franchise.

Grand Opening Celebration

Chicken Salad Chick will welcome the Hickory community on 23 October 2024 to celebrate the opening of the new location. The first guest in line will win one large Quick Chick chicken salad every week for a year. The next 99 will win one large chicken salad per month for a year. Guests who purchase a Chick Meal on 23, 24 and 25 October will receive a free tote bag, Chick cooler and Chick tumbler respectively.

To participate in the opening offers, guests must download the brand's app, be at least 16 and adhere to the one-reward-per-guest limit, with no other offers applicable.

Southern Hospitality and Community Engagement

Chicken Salad Chick president and CEO Scott Deviney stated: "Hickory has been a warm and welcoming community so far, and we're confident our menu will resonate with the locals. We're also thrilled to welcome Allison and Sunny to the Chicken Salad Chick family. Their deep commitment to giving back, especially through Allison's prior public service career, is truly inspiring. We know they'll carry forward our mission of spreading joy, enriching lives and serving others, making Chicken Salad Chick a beloved spot in Hickory this fall."

Anderson, who previously worked as a librarian, said she believes the restaurant's fresh food and unique concept will resonate with the Hickory community. "There's nothing really like it in this area," Anderson said. "It's fresh food. The chicken salad is made daily and it's a lot healthier than burgers or fries. It's a very unique concept." Chicken Salad Chick offers around 12 varieties of chicken salad, including the popular Classic Carol, Fancy Nancy, and Sassy Scotty.

A Focus on Community Support

Giving back to the community is an important focus for the Hickory team and the Chicken Salad Chick brand. As part of pre-opening Friends & Family events in Hickory, the restaurant will be raising money for Catawba County United Way, a nonprofit dedicated to building relationships to support the community and currently supporting Hurricane Helene relief in the surrounding area. Donations will contribute to the organization's mission of helping children reach their potential by promoting financial stability, and improving health outcomes, with assistance following the impact of Hurricane Helene on Western North Carolina communities.

A Beloved Spot in Hickory

Chicken Salad Chick of Hickory will be open Monday – Saturday from 10:30am – 8pm. The restaurant is located at 972 2nd St. NE.
