For the past four years, Brett Mahoney has lived in a Los Angeles residence he purchased for $4.75 million from former married Tinseltown stars Chris Pratt and Anna Farris. Now the Powerbook II: Ghost, Empire, and CSI: Miami producer is flipping his Hollywood Hills estate in the Nichols Canyon enclave back up for sale with a nearly $2.8 million jump in price, asking a smidge under $8 million. The listing is held by Billy Rose and Natasha Sizlo of The Agency.

Originally built in the late 1970s and owned for seven years before Mahoney’s tenure by the ex-couple—though they hoisted the place up for sale in 2018 shortly after splitting, only for it to languish on the market the next two years—the premises were recently remodeled by Newfield Design and include four bedrooms and an equal number of baths in roughly 5,000 square feet of living space. There’s also an attached three-car garage flanked by a motorcourt with room for up to 15 vehicles.

Tucked away on a walled and gated parcel of land spanning over a half-acre, high above the Sunset Strip, the stucco and terracotta-roof structure is fronted by a palm-lined pathway that empties out at arched front doors opening into a turreted foyer resting beneath a vaulted wood-beam ceiling and displaying a decorative tile floor.

In addition to a fireside living area, the finely finished interiors sport a cozy family room adorned with built-in bookshelves. An updated kitchen is outfitted with stylish forest-green cabinetry, an eat-in island, top-tier stainless appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook, while the spacious primary suite features a private balcony, a seating area warmed by a fireplace, a walk-in closet, and a luxe bath holding dual vanities, a spa tub, and a steam room.

Elsewhere is a screening room, as well as a guest suite that’s currently set up as an office. Sliding glass doors open to reveal the secluded backyard, which hosts a saltwater pool and spa, along with al fresco lounging and entertaining spaces enhanced with a firepit and a built-in barbecue. Per the listing, the property also comes with ready-to-issue plans for a 1,200-square-foot accessory dwelling unit.

What Makes This Home Special?

The Hollywood Hills estate, owned by Chris Pratt and Anna Faris from 2013 to 2018, boasts a unique blend of Mediterranean charm and modern updates. The home showcases a spacious layout with four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and a generous living space of 4,700 square feet. Built in 1979, the residence retains its original character, featuring wooden-beam ceilings and arched doorways, yet features modern additions like a chef's kitchen with sleek white cabinetry and marble tile backsplashes, and a spacious island.

More Than Just A House

The true highlight of the property lies in its expansive outdoor features. Multiple covered patios, a saltwater pool and spa, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, and a private gym pavilion create a luxurious and entertaining space. The home also includes a lighted tennis court and lush landscaping, offering privacy and tranquility.

A Hollywood History

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris, who met on the set of the film “Take Me Home Tonight” in 2007, purchased the home for $3.3 million in 2013. They were married in 2009 and separated after eight years of marriage. Despite their split, the two have managed to remain on good terms, at least geographically. They were required by their divorce agreement to remain within 5 miles of each other until their son completed sixth grade. Their son is now 12 years old.

What's Next for the Couple?

Faris now resides in an eco-friendly mansion in Pacific Palisades. Pratt purchased a $15.6 million property nearby, which he recently put up for sale. In 2023, Pratt and his current wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, made headlines for their new $12.5 million Brentwood estate. However, this move sparked controversy due to the demolition of a midcentury-modern masterpiece designed by architect Craig Ellwood, known as the Zimmerman House. The historic home was razed to make way for a much larger modern mansion, drawing criticism from architecture enthusiasts and preservationists alike.

A New Chapter for Chris Pratt and Anna Faris' Former Home

The Hollywood Hills estate, once a testament to a celebrity marriage, now stands as a prime example of the dynamism of the real estate market. With its rich history, luxurious features, and strategic location, this home is sure to attract discerning buyers seeking a piece of Hollywood glamour.
