Two sides enjoying good form go head-to-head at the King Power Stadium on Friday as Leicester and Nottingham Forest get Gameweek 9 of the Premier League underway.
After a slow start to the season, Steve Cooper's Leicester appear to have found their footing in the EPL after back-to-back wins against south coast sides Bournemouth and Southampton.
They face a Forest side that are becoming this season's surprise package. Nuno Espirito Santo's men have suffered just one defeat in their eight EPL fixtures so far this term and are beginning to emerge as serious contenders for European qualification, with a win this evening set to push them up to fifth in the standings.
Leicester City take on Nottingham Forest on Friday, Oct. 25, at the King Power Stadium, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. BST local time, making it a 3 pm. ET or 12 p.m. PT start in the US and Canada and a 6 a.m. AEDT kickoff in Australia on Saturday morning.

Using a VPN to Watch the Match
If you find yourself unable to view EPL matches locally, you may need a different way to watch the games -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.
With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. Most VPNs, like our Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN, make it really easy to do this.
Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.
ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It's normally $13 a month, but if you sign up for an annual subscription for $100 you'll get three months free and save 49%. That's the equivalent of $6.67 a month with code SPECIALDEAL, which should be automatically applied.
Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Match Recap
Chris Wood scored twice as Nottingham Forest beat Leicester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium on Friday. Wood’s seven goals are second in the Premier League to Erling Haaland, and the Kiwi was joined on the score sheet by Forest captain Ryan Yates. Elliot Anderson registered an assist.
Jamie Vardy’s 140th Premier League goal was Leicester’s only goal, as the Foxes’ mixed-up defending could not give Steve Cooper a winning reunion with the club that sacked him last year. And it could’ve been worse were it not for Leicester backstop Mads Hermansen.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Tricky Trees move into fifth place on 16 points, nine places and seven points ahead of their Friday hosts.
Forest’s Comeback Wins
The season is 2018-19 and Nuno Espirito Santo leads a Midlands club to a seventh-place Premier League finish and Europa League play thanks to fine-finishing center forward, a gritty midfield, and a rotating cast of creative, too-speedy wingers. Could he do it again? That season’s Wolves team scored 47 goals but it was Raul Jimenez more often than not providing the finishes. Chris Wood is no Jimenez, who piled up assists, too, and there are no names quite as big as Rui Patricio, Ruben Neves, or Joao Moutinho, but there’s a similar feel to this Forest side, who got the win today without known entities Morgan Gibbs-White and James Ward-Prowse. Diogo Jota and Adama Traore were the wide threats then, and now it’s Anthony Elanga, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and friends. It will be a mighty haul for Forest to reach Europe for Nuno this go-round, but a top-half finish is not out of the question.
A Defensive Nightmare for Leicester
It was a tense affair, Leicester took the lead on the half hour mark when Harry Winks sent a cross into the box and Vardy turned it past the Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels.
Forest, however, responded in the second half, with Chris Wood scoring twice in a devastating 15-minute period. It was the 31-year-old's second goal that was particularly eye-catching. It was a 60th-minute effort, the result of some sloppy play by Leicester. Mads Hermansen launched the ball long down the middle, Chris Wood, the target of a Leicester defender who headed it weakly back towards his goalkeeper. The ball dropped invitingly for Wood and he headed it into an unguarded net. It was yet another defensive nightmare from Leicester’s point of view; yet another fine finish by Wood!
What’s Next
Leicester start a three-match road swing with a League Cup tie at Manchester United on Wednesday, then go to Ipswich Town at 11am ET Saturday before visiting Man Utd in the Premier League on Nov. 10.
Forest have a pair of Premier League home games next, with West Ham visiting the City Ground at 11am Saturday before Newcastle come to town on Nov. 10.
Final Thoughts
Forest are deserving winners of this big East Midlands showdown! They gave Forest plenty to think about in the first half, but didn’t show up at all for the second. Forest by contrast were excellent in both halves, and thoroughly deserved an ultimately comfortable victory. All of their goals were taken magnificently … and though Leicester were also defensively at fault for all three, let’s take nothing away from a splendid all-round Forest performance. Chris Wood correctly named player of the match, though Elliot Anderson, Callum Hudson-Odoi and captain Ryan Yates should also be mentioned in dispatches. Nuno Espírito Santo’s side celebrate as they go fifth in the Premier League, for an evening at least. The Foxes remain in 14th spot, their two-match winning run coming to an end.
