Two Liga MX sides will collide in an all-Mexican affair as Club America take on Atlas in the Round of 32 of the Leagues Cup on Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California.
The most recent meeting between both sides came in March, with La Aguilas recording a massive 5-1 victory over La Academia.

Club America enjoyed a productive domestic break with high-profile friendlies against Premier League opposition, Chelsea and Aston Villa, helping them stay in shape.
While they were outclassed by the Blues, suffering a 3-0 defeat on August 1, they bounced back to secure a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa two days later.
As reigning Liga MX champions, America bypassed the Leagues Cup group stage and entered the competition at the Round of 32 stage, making this their first game in the competition this year.
Their quest for a maiden Leagues Cup title begins with a familiar foe in Atlas, a side they have faced 55 times in the past, winning 27 and losing 14 encounters.
However, America's domestic campaign has been inconsistent, with two wins and two defeats from their opening four matches, leaving them ninth in the table, four points adrift of the summit.

Atlas progressed to the Round of 32 despite a 2-1 loss to MLS side Real Salt Lake in their final group game at America First Field in Sandy, Utah, last Friday.
Their 1-0 win over Houston Dynamo on matchday one was enough to secure second place in Group H, as they finished with a better goal difference than RLS.
The three-time Mexican champions were eliminated at the same stage of last year's Leagues Cup by MLS side New England Revolution on penalties, and they will be hoping to avoid a repeat.
As they aim for their first Leagues Cup title, Atlas will need to improve on their previous performance against America to keep their hopes alive, having lost woefully to them in March.

Club America will remain without 27-year-old centre-back Jorge Mere, who is out with a cruciate ligament tear and expected to miss the rest of the year.
Kevin Alvarez and Diego Valdes are also sidelined with foot injuries, while Alejandro Zendejas is out with a leg injury until later this month.
Atlas will line up without Brian Lozano as he continues his recovery from a knee surgery, while Mauro Manotas is also sidelined with an ACL injury.
Leonardo Flores is also expected to be out of action until mid-September, as he is dealing with a leg injury.
Club America possible starting lineup:Malagon; Reyes, Araujo, Castillo, Calderon; Fidalgo, E. Sanchez, R. Sanchez, Dilrosun; Zendejas, Martin
Atlas possible starting lineup:Vargas; Zaldivar, G. Aguirre, Mora, Reyes; Rocha, Rios; Murillo, Marquez, Fulgencio; E. Aguirre
Club America have not looked convincing in the opening league matches, but facing tougher opposition during the break is expected to help them increase their intensity.
While Atlas have looked decent so far, their recent results against America show that they have struggled to deliver the knockout blow, and we expect this to be the case again. For data analysis of the most likely results, scorelines and more for this match please click here.

The Mexican Liga MX champions head into the game off the back of a mid-season friendly campaign and will look to make their return to competitive action on a high.
Illian Hernandez came up clutch for Club America as he netted a 77th-minute winner to hand them a 1-0 friendly victory over English Premier League side Aston Villa last weekend.
Before that, André Jardine’s men made it two wins from four games in the new Liga MX campaign on July 21, when they edged out Juarez FC 2-1 at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez. On 1 August, Club America fell to a 3-0 friendly loss against Chelsea.
Club America now turn their attention to the Leagues Cup where they will be looking to improve on their round-of-16 finish from last season.
Elsewhere, Atlas suffered a 2-1 defeat against MLS side Real Salt Lake in the final Group H game of the Leagues Cup last time out.
This followed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Houston Dynamo in the group opener on July 28 — a result which saw Benat San Jose’s side make it three wins on the bounce for the first time since May 2022.
Atlas will be aiming to return to winning ways on Friday and go one step further than last season’s round-of-32 exit from the Leagues Cup.
Coming off an impressive display against Aston Villa, Club America will head into the midweek clash with confidence as they look to kick off their Leagues Cup quest on a high.
Jardine’s men have enjoyed the better of this fixture and we are backing them to secure the win at the Snapdragon Stadium.

The CONCACAF giants are all set to make their tournament debut having received a group-stage bye after winning the 2024 Liga MX Clausura. On the other side of the matchup, Atlas picked up three points to begin their Leagues Cup campaign with a 1-0 triumph over Houston Dynamo. Even though Atlas fell 2-1 to Real Salt Lake, the Mexican outfit still managed to qualify for the knockout stage with three total points collected in second place behind Houston in West Group 8.

America will have to make do without winger Alex Zendejas as the USA international is recovering from a leg injury. Joining Zendejas on the unavailable list is Diego Vales with a foot problem while a different foot injury has Kevin Alvarez sidelined as well.
Club America predicted lineup vs Atlas (4-2-3-1): Malagon; Reyes, Caceres, Lichnovsky, Calderon; Richard Sanchez, Fidalgo; Dilrosun, Erick Sanchez, Rodriguez; Martin.
Brian Lozano is likely to miss the match as the Uruguayan is dealing with a knock and is expected to return to action at the end of the month.
Atlas predicted lineup vs Club America (4-3-3): Vargas; Zaldivar, Nervo, Mora, Reyes; Rios, Rocha; Murillo, Marquez, Fulgencio; Aguirre.
Club America are one of the outright favorites to walk away from Leagues Cup this summer with the trophy in their hands with their star-studded squad from top to bottom. Atlas do have several talented players in their squad themselves and somewhat know how to keep America at bay with just one defeat in their last five meetings -- a 5-1 hammering in the 2024 Clausura season.
However, America are arguably the best team in North America, and they'll find a way to keep their Leagues Cup campaign going with a narrow victory over Atlas thanks to goals from Erick Sanchez and Henry Martin.
