David Clifford, the two-time Footballer of the Year, pulled off two brilliant moments of skill within seconds to wow spectators at Fossa's match vs Kerins O'Rahillys.

The two-time Footballer of the Year initially picked up possession in his usual right corner forward space.

He attempts a one-two with a teammate but the return handpass is a bit over-egged.

Not to worry though as Clifford stretches out to make a diving one-handed catch more akin to an NFL player than a GAA one.

At that moment comes an even more impressive display of ingenuity though.

While lying on his backside with defenders closing in he bicycle kicks the ball back into an open space.

There is a bit of luck on his side here as a teammate just happens to be running free into that space and duly curls it over for a point.

But nonetheless it remained a breathtaking play as you can tell from the crowd's shocked yet gleeful reaction.

Of course not everyone online was blown away by it as there were the usual critics who pointed out that it didn't even come at senior level in the Kerry club championship.

There were also several commenters who feel the praise he receives is disproportionate, especially since he did endure a quiet inter-county season by his standards.

But for the most part, the bulk of the replies on X as it's been shared far and wide are from people happy to celebrate the 25-year-old.

He may go down as the best Gaelic footballer ever when it's all said and done.

But to fulfil that promise he will no doubt have to increase the rate with which he can inspire The Kingdom to more All-Ireland crowns.

So far they've only managed one since he came on the scene in 2018.

And this year saw their most alarming Championship exit since Jack O'Connor returned for a second stint in charge.

While he remains in place for 2025, there will be some alterations to his backroom team after Mike Quirke stepped down in a surprise move.

His choice of words in his farewell statement definitely raised a few eyebrows too as it hinted at some occasional friction in the camp.

Quirke pointedly tweeted: "I’ve decided to step away from my role with the Kerry senior set-up after 3 largely enjoyable years.

"Very grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a storied and passionate football community.

"While I’ll no longer be on the sidelines, I remain an ardent supporter of Kerry football, and look forward to cheering on the team in the seasons ahead."
