David Gilmour, English guitarist, singer, songwriter, and member of Pink Floyd, is coming to New York this November. On September 6th, Gilmour released Luck and Strange, his first new solo album since 2015. The artist is quite eager about this release and claims it to be the best album he’s made, since Dark Side of The Moon in 1973. David’s tour is set to kick off in Italy on September 27th. He’ll spend six nights in Rome, six nights in London, 3 nights in Los Angeles, and a final five nights in New York City. This is his first live tour for the first time in 8 years. When asked by Rolling Stone if he will perform any Pink Floyd favorites, he said, “One has to wake up to reality once in a while. I think I will be doing one or two things from that time, but it just seems so long ago.” Tickets to the 5-night leg at Madison Square Garden are still on sale, and selling for about $377 USD.

Gilmour’s Rehearsal Shows

Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour is getting ready to hit the road on his Luck and Strange tour, but a few lucky fans in England will get to see a preview of what he’s planning.

Gilmour just announced he’s headlining two special rehearsal concerts, an evening show on Sept. 20 and a matinee on Sept. 21, at the Brighton Centre in Brighton, England.

Fans who either order or have already purchased Gilmour’s recent solo album, Luck and Strange, through his website get first shot at tickets, which cost less than $40 each.

Gilmour’s Luck and Strange tour kicks off Sept. 27 in Rome, Italy. He hits the States Oct. 25 in Los Angeles, with shows in New York to follow. A complete list of dates can be found at davidgilmour.com.

Weighing in on Ticket Prices

And speaking of concert tickets, Gilmour just weighed in on the controversy over the high price of tickets to the upcoming Oasis reunion shows, specifically the practice of dynamic pricing, where tickets go up in price based on demand.

After sharing in a new ITV interview that a Pink Floyd reunion wasn’t likely to happen because the three surviving members — Gilmour, Roger Waters and Nick Mason — aren’t on speaking terms, Gilmour was asked about the Gallagher brothers’ reunion.

“Oasis should do what’s right for them,” he said, but noted about the ticket controversy, “Chose a ticket price and stick to it.”

Catching a Show

For those who want to catch Gilmour’s rehearsal shows in Brighton, they will need to act fast. Tickets are limited to 1,500 people per show, so if you're hoping to see him perform ahead of his tour, don’t miss your chance.

For those who are interested in attending the shows, fans will need to have purchased a copy of Luck And Strange from the official David Gilmour UK store by 8am, Monday, September 16. Ticket links and codes will be sent out at midday Monday, September 16 and the first access to tickets will start at 3pm.
