As the Detroit Tigers battle the Cleveland Guardians in Games 3 and 4 of the 2024 American League Division Series, fans can try fall favorites like cider and doughnuts, a local legendary taqueria, loaded coney pierogis, and more. When the Detroit Tigers take on the Cleveland Guardians, baseball fans heading to Comerica Park on Wednesday will face a lineup of new, fall-inspired food and drink options. Ahead of Wednesday’s Game 3, after Monday's Tigers win to tie the series at one game each, Delaware North announced a new food lineup for the 2024 American League Division Series (ALDS) at Comerica Park.

“We’re excited to bring these locally inspired dishes and drinks to Comerica Park for the ALDS,” said Joe Slomski, Delaware North’s general manager at Comerica Park in a news release. “Our goal is to enhance the fan experience by offering flavors that reflect the city of Detroit and the excitement of postseason baseball.”

Fans will have several food options across several sections of Comerica Park including a buffet offered at the Tiger Club overlooking the field. These are the new featured menu items for the playoffs at Comerica Park:

Where to Eat Around Comerica Park

Downtown Detroit continues to be an epicenter for sports fans in 2024 as the Detroit Tigers battle the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Division Series Wednesday and Thursday at Comerica Park. While there are a ton of culinary options inside the ballpark — including food from local restaurants along with the standard hot dogs, peanuts and, we assume, Cracker Jack — fans who are coming downtown are likely looking to keep the partying going in the bars and restaurants surrounding the stadium as well.

Hungry sports fans can walk to literally dozens and dozens of bars and restaurants within a half mile of Comerica Park; the options are overwhelming. To help you narrow it down to places that are easy to get into with a baseball hat and no reservations, here are our Top 10 picks for where to eat and drink while you're downtown for the game this week.

Frita Batidos

For a great burger — Frita Batidos: A Cuban restaurant that has award-winning burgers, thick, tropical milkshakes with or without booze and a fun atmosphere, Frita Batidos is open for lunch and dinner at West Columbia at Woodward, which is home to a lot of casual eateries that don’t require reservations and are good for all ages. From Frita's, you could also walk to many other family-friendly eateries that don't require a reservation like JoJo's ShakeBar, Sahara Restaurant & Grill, Good Cakes and Bakes, Union Assembly and Eminem's Mom's Spaghetti. Visit fritabatidos.com/detroit.

Golden Fleece

A Detroit classic — Golden Fleece: Downtown Detroit is teeming with brand-new restaurants but for something tried and true and the best lamb gyro you'll find in this area, head to Golden Fleece. The recently renovated, family-owned business opened in 1970 and is the longest-standing restaurant in Greektown. Besides the classic gyro, Golden Fleece's standouts include the flaming saganaki, spinach pie, grilled lamb chops and the Detroit-style Greek salad, which has beets, pepperoncini, olives, onion, tomato, feta cheese and pink dressing. They also have a lot of Greek wines, plus a whole wine shop next door with more imported goods. Golden Fleece is open daily for lunch and dinner, plus late night on the weekends at 525 Monroe. No reservations needed, call (313) 962-7093 or visit goldenfleecedetroit.com for a carryout.

Vollmer's

No-frills bar — Vollmer's: Opened in March where the Park Bar used to be, this neighborhood watering hole has a simple menu of sliders, imported and domestic beers and a well-stocked liquor shelf. There are no $15 cocktails or “small plates,” just tiny burgers packed with flavor on brioche buns and drink specials like $3 High Life bottles. Located at Park and Elizabeth, Vollmer's is open daily until 2 a.m. with the kitchen serving until 11 p.m. 2040 Park, Detroit. Visit vollmersdetroit.com for more details.

Mootz Pizzeria and Bar

Sit outside — Mootz Pizzeria and Bar: If you're walking around downtown before or after the game and want to fuel up, you can stop by this beloved New York-style pizzeria to grab a slice and keep on walking, or sit down and settle in. Share a gourmet pie or create one with your favorite toppings, along with a cocktail or mocktail while sitting in the modern dining room, at the bar or on the outdoor patio. If Mootz is jam-packed, there's the Side Hustle Lounge where guests can sit instead, or have a drink and a snack while waiting for a table at Mootz; they have a brand-new sidewalk patio, too. It's open daily for lunch and dinner at 1230 Library. Check out the menu at mootzpizzeria.com.

The Lone Goat

A grown-up pub — The Lone Goat: A new spot that's a bit off the beaten path, the Lone Goat is a two-story pub on the ground floor of the Element Detroit hotel at the historic, renovated Metropolitan Building. They serve British favs like fish and chips, Welsh rarebit and shepherd's pie, plus Pimm's cups and Guinness on draught to wash it all down. The main level has a wrap-around bar and cozy seating, with additional seats and dart boards on the upper level. It's open daily for lunch and dinner at 33 John R in Detroit, so there should be no problem getting in before or after Wednesday's 3:08 p.m. game. Visit thelonegoat.com.

Easy Peasy

Hip and new — Easy Peasy: If you want to check out somewhere brand-new before or after the game, Easy Peasy is just as its name implies. It's a no-frills bar with sushi rolls during the day and pub grub like burgers, panini and popcorn during dinnertime. Sip a classic cocktail, a simple whiskey and Coke or try the house beer Easy Peasy Lager made by Ferndale's Urbanrest Brewing Company. If you're in the mood for something sweet, Huddle Soft Serve's window is around the corner. Easy Peasy is open daily at noon at Woodward and John R. Visit easypeasydetroit.com.

Buddy's Pizza

Good for families — Buddy's Pizza: Better for large groups or if you have young kids in tow, Buddy's has a familiar menu of Detroit-style pizzas, salads and more, with vegan and gluten-free options, plus lunch specials and a kids' menu. If you don't want to sit down, this downtown location of Buddy's also has a slice counter for a quick fuel-up while you're making your way to or from the ballpark. It's open daily for lunch and dinner at 1565 Broadway.

Union Assembly

Something for everyone — Union Assembly: From the restaurant group that brought us Vinsetta Garage and Clarkston Union, this multi-level restaurant is right across the street from Comerica Park with a view of the stadium. With a vibe that is kind of mid-century modern circus-meets-factory, Union Assembly does take reservations, but they're ready for walk-ins, too, especially on game days. The menu can cater to just about any picky eater, with hot dogs, Detroit-style pizza, mac and cheese, steaks, salads and plenty of gluten-free and vegan options. It's open daily at 11 a.m. and stays open late at 2131 Woodward. Check out unionassembly.com for more details.

Fixins Soul Kitchen

Comfort food — Fixins Soul Kitchen: If you want to fill your belly with some hearty soul food before hitting the game, stop in at Paradise Valley’s newest restaurant, Fixins. Owned by former NBA player Kevin Johnson, Fixins serves fried chicken, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, hot chicken sandwiches and items you don't see on many menus like deep-fried deviled eggs, collard greens with turkey necks, charred okra and oxtails in sweet brown gravy. There's a full bar, too. Fixins is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on game days this week at 1435 Randolph. Call (313) 513-7685 or visit fixinssoulkitchen.com.

Le Suprême

Make it date night — Le Suprême: Of all the new hotel restaurants that have debuted in downtown Detroit during the past year or so, this French brasserie is my favorite. It's a nice place, but there's no dress code. You can get upscale here, ordering oysters, escargot or lobster cocktail, or keep it simple with a glass of wine and a cheese plate. Le Suprême also has daily features: Wednesdays it's lobster frites for $66 and Thursdays is Dover Sole Meuniere for $84. You could also pop by after the game for a nightcap and dessert like a plate of macrons or crème brulée. The restaurant, which also has first-come, first-served sidewalk seating, opens at 4 p.m. at 1265 Washington. Visit lesupremedetroit.com.
