Out of all the horror properties Dead by Daylight fans have been asking for, there’s always been one that’s stood head and shoulders above the rest in terms of the loudness of the requests. It’s not Friday the 13th’s Jason, it’s not the classic version of Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street – in fact it’s a different Freddy altogether. That’s right, fans have been wanting Five Nights at Freddy’s in DBD for years – and now it’s finally going to happen.

Announced as part of the Five Nights at Freddy’s 10th Anniversary celebrations via the Dead by Daylight X, formerly Twitter, account, it’s finally been confirmed that the two horror game series are set to smash into each other. Despite the confirmation and the overwhelming excitement in replies from DBD fans, there’s a catch. The team-up is dated for summer of 2025, meaning there’s a whole year to wait before this will actually happen.

Of course this just means there’s a year to build hype and make sure the collab is executed to perfection, and with plenty of stuff happening in the DBD universe until then, it’s not like fans won’t have plenty to get stuck into. For example, this all has been unveiled on the eve before the big Castlevania reveal – with fans still not sure who, or what, will be coming to the game.

Theories for the FNAF and DBD Crossover

In the meantime there’s going to be a lot of theorizing over the next year until more information is released. Already players are wondering if the Toreador March from Carmen will make an appearance, alongside Springtrap or Freddy himself as a potential killer. There’s a lot for fans to mull over, and a lot of time to do it in.

Is Fortnite Getting FNAF Content?

While fans are excited about FNAF coming to Dead by Daylight, they're also looking for any sign of FNAF in other games, particularly Fortnite. However, the possibility of Freddy and his animatronic friends joining the battle royale seems less likely after the Dead by Daylight announcement.

Fans have been hoping to see Five Nights at Freddy's content in Fortnite for several years now, and there's sure to be a lot of disappointment if it doesn't happen. However, even if a Fortnite collaboration doesn't get announced, it's evident that Cawthon is a lot more open to collaborations than he was in the past; not only are we getting a mystery collaboration announcement tomorrow, but FNAF content will be in Funko Fusion. If these collaborations go well enough, perhaps it will open the door for more!

What About Other FNAF Collaborations?

The FNAF x Dead by Daylight crossover is just one of many exciting events planned for the series' 10th anniversary. Scottgames has a full schedule of updates, announcements, and collaborations lined up for the week leading up to August 8, 2024, with new games, demos, and even a mysterious announcement from Steel Wool Studios.

It is an exciting time to be a fan of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise. With a new game, an interactive novel, and an upcoming collaboration with Dead by Daylight, fans will be well-fed with content until the 10th anniversary is over, and even beyond.

The Future of FNAF

With the 10th anniversary celebrations in full swing, the future of FNAF looks bright. The franchise is still very popular, and with a string of successful game releases and collaborations, it’s clear that Scott Cawthon’s creations still have a lot of life left in them.
