Recent Nighttime Attacks in Galway

Galway has recently seen a rise in late-night attacks on homes and vehicles. Several neighborhoods have reported incidents, leaving residents on edge and prompting the Gardaí to launch an investigation.

Ballybane Area

On July 26, just before 2 am, a residence in the Ballybane area of Galway was targeted. The attackers smashed a front sitting room window and several car windows. The Gardaí are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident.

Fearann Rí Area

Early on July 27, at approximately 4.30 am, a house in the Fearann Rí area of Doughiska was vandalized. The windows of the residence and a parked vehicle were shattered. The investigating Gardaí urge the public to provide any relevant information they may have.

Second Ballybane Incident

On July 29, around 5 am, another incident occurred in the Ballybane area. Glass on the main front door of a property was smashed, and the windshield of a vehicle parked outside was also damaged. The Gardaí are examining this incident as part of their ongoing investigation.

Garda Warning on Investment Fraud

In addition to the nighttime attacks, the Gardaí have issued a warning about a rise in investment fraud cases. They caution the public against unsolicited investment opportunities advertised on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, particularly those involving cryptocurrency.

The Gardaí advise individuals to carefully verify the legitimacy of any investment opportunity before clicking on links or divulging personal information. They also emphasize the importance of never sharing bank pin numbers online, as banks never request such information.

Anyone with information regarding the recent nighttime attacks or suspected investment fraud is urged to contact the Galway Garda Station on 091 53800 or the confidential line 1800 666 111.
