The Late Late Show’s Country Music Special returned on Friday night, bringing together some of the biggest names in Irish country music for a night of unforgettable performances and heartfelt tributes. The show featured performances from Lisa McHugh, Lee Matthews, Cliona Hagan, and Sandy Kelly who showcased chart-topping hits and familiar classics. The legendary country singer and songwriter Kris Kristofferson, who passed away earlier this week, was remembered during the special. Daniel O’Donnell and Eastenders star turned country singer Shona McGarty paid tribute to the ‘Me and Bobby McGee’ singer with a moving performance.

The queens of Country, Philomena Begley, Susan McCann, and Margo, sat down for a chat with host Patrick Kielty, and Derek Ryan and The Kilfenora Céilí Band had viewers bopping in their seats. Patrick invited Janet Devlin, Garron Noone, Margo, and Mike Denver to play the game Wild West Roulette while father and daughter, Jimmy and Claudia Buckley, performed a duet. Michael English and friends Chantelle Padden, Clodagh Lawlor, and David James came together to celebrate country songs much loved the world over.
