Singer-songwriter James Blunt is celebrating his Top 10 best-selling album Back To Bedlam with a 20th anniversary reissue and 14 city North American trek on top of his previously announced dates overseas.
James Blunt has announced a North American leg for his 2025 Back To Bedlam 20th Anniversary Tour, celebrating one of the top ten best-selling albums of the Noughties. The 14-city run includes stops at Central Park Summerstage in New York City on June 17th and The Greek in Los Angeles on June 27th.
The 14-city leg of the “Back to Bedlam 20th Anniversary Tour” kicks off in Toronto on June 12th. After two more stops in Canada, Blunt will arrive in the US for eight shows. The trek will then wrap with three nights in the Mexican cities of Monterrey, Mexico City, and Guadalajara.
Blunt will further celebrate Back To Bedlam with a special remastered version of the album arriving October 11th, 20 years to the day of its initial release. Included in this special 20th-anniversary release comes a special version of the original album remastered for 2024 by Stuart Hawkes at Metropolis, in addition to previously unreleased demos of the core songs from the album, plus previously unreleased songs from the Bedlam era.
Formats include a single red recycled color vinyl, 2 CD, 6-panel softpak with 16-page booklet, and available digitally.
“I’ve released seven studio albums, but Back To Bedlam was the one people actually bought. So on its 20th anniversary, the record label and I thought we should repackage it with some early demos, and milk it for all it’s worth. It was one of the biggest selling albums of the Noughties, so here’s hoping it makes a dent in the 20’s,” Blunt shares.
The Tour
The tour will feature the album played in its entirety. "I’ve been touring now for twenty years, and really, it’s only 'Back To Bedlam' that people want to hear… so on that album’s twentieth anniversary, what better way to celebrate than to head out on the 'Back to Bedlam 20th Anniversary Tour'!” James explains. “I’ll play all the songs from 'Back to Bedlam' in full, from start to finish, and chuck in the better known songs from later albums to finish. It’s going to be, well, it pains me to say it… beautiful.”
Back To Bedlam: A Look Back
Back To Bedlam featured the global smash hit “You’re Beautiful.” He’s won two Brit Awards, and two Ivor Novello Awards and has received five Grammy nominations. As Blunt humbly approaches national treasure status in his native UK, he is widely regarded for his honesty, wit and charm, as showcased on record, on stage and with his ever-engaging social media banter.
Last year, Blunt released his seventh studio album Who We Used To Be featuring the heartbreakingly raw single “The Girl That Never Was” and standout track “Dark Thought.” Who We Used To Be marked his first studio album since the acclaimed Once Upon A Mind in 2019, which featured standout single “Monsters,” a heartfelt song for his father. His recent greatest hits collection, 2021’s The Stars Beneath My Feet, also features catalog highlights “1973,” “Bonfire Heart,” “Stay The Night” & more.
