The Grand Tour is revving up for one last epic journey as fans eagerly await the return of the much-loved trio on Amazon Prime Video for their final adventure in The Grand Tour: One for the Road.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are back together for what promises to be an unforgettable road trip, taking viewers on a poignant final journey with their favourite car enthusiasts.

Fans are gearing up for the highly anticipated finale, sparking interest in the stars' lives beyond the show's thrilling adventures.

Known for keeping his private life under wraps, 61-year-old James typically avoids sharing too many personal details during episodes.

Ahead of the car-focused series' final chapter, MyLondon has taken a peek into the quiet everyday life James shares with his long-term partner in London.

While he isn't married, James May and his partner, Sarah Frater, have been together for nearly 25 years.

Starting their relationship back in 2000, Sarah also enjoys a close relationship with Richard Hammond's wife, Mindy Hammond.

Sarah has an impressive background in art criticism, mainly focusing her reviews on dance for a range of respected publications.

Fans have often wondered if children are part of the equation for James May, but he and his partner Sarah do not have any. On the Driven podcast, May explained: "I think it was just a result of life, let's put that down to being a late developer."

Despite not having children of their own, James is known to be an affectionate uncle who spends quality time with his nieces and nephews and enjoys working with younger colleagues, especially those in their twenties.

He noted the youthful dynamic in television, stating: "That's the nature of TV, it has a big influx of people of that age who disperse and move on to other things, it's all very fluid."

He lives with his long-term partner Sarah in a house they built themselves in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The couple has made their home in Hammersmith, where they've created their ideal living space after years of moving through "places on the way".

In an interview with The Times, May shared his feelings about settling down, saying: "I'm living in a house that feels like a destination, and it's slightly disturbing. I'm just worried I'll end up thinking, right, I've done all that now."

James also expressed some concerns about what lies ahead, candidly admitting: "I had a good crack at it and was very fortunate and now I'll - and I can't stand this expression - 'enjoy the rest of my life'."

He concluded with a sombre reflection: "Because I don't think I will. I'll just be sitting there, waiting for The End."

After tearing down an old West London property and embarking on a five-year renovation journey, James finally completed his dream home in March last year. The house provides plenty of room for his remarkable collection of vehicles.

His residence serves as a sanctuary for his cherished collection of transport, housing 40 motorbikes, a Rolls-Royce, a rare Ferrari 458 Speciale, a Porsche 911, and even a Fiat Panda.

The Grand Tour: One For The Road is set to premiere on Friday, September 13, on Amazon Prime Video.
