Jorja Smith has returned with two new singles, “Loving You” and “Don’t Let Me Go.” Both tracks see the singer flex her soulful vocals paired with poignant and touching lyrics. Smith had originally written “Loving You” a decade ago with Maverick Sabre and producer Ed Thomas. After rediscovering the track, she began reworking it in tune with her contemporary sound. “Don’t Let Me Go” was also written around ten years ago. Sabre provided vocals for the song with New Machine producing.
In tandem with dropping the two singles, Smith revealed the dates for her upcoming US tour. Supporting her 2023 LP falling or flying, the singer will be kicking off the US leg of the run in February. Smith has confirmed that she’ll be hitting the road next year for a headline tour of the UK and Ireland, in support of her 2023 second album ‘Falling Or Flying’. The run will kick off in Manchester on 30th May 2025, and will see her make stops in Wolverhampton and Dublin before playing two nights at London’s famed Hammersmith Apollo.
What’s more, Jorja’s also shared two new singles to mark the occasion - a double A-side release of ‘Loving You’ and ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, both of which were originally written nearly a decade ago in collaboration with Maverick Sabre, and which now stand as testament to her reflective, emotive signature sound. The singer recently rediscovered and revived “Loving You,” a track written with Maverick Sabre nearly a decade ago. This track pairs Smith’s vocals with a warm piano and a gospel choir. “Don’t Let Me Go” was written and produced around the same time, with the singer and Sabre contributing their vocals. The sparse instrumentation lends itself to the vulnerability and honesty of the lyrics. The full tour dates are below:
