Australian cricket team batter Josh Inglis hammered a superb century in the 2nd T20I versus Scotland at Grange Cricket Club, Edinburgh. Inglis powered his way with a score of 103 from 49 balls. His knock consisted of seven fours and seven sixes. Inglis came to bat when his side was 11/1. He shared a 92-run stand for the 3rd wicket alongside Cameron Green (36). It was a knock of substance from Inglis, who lit up Edinburg. Inglis scored 28 runs from 12 balls inside the first six overs in Australia's 55/2. Thereafter, he got to a fifty from 20 balls. In the 17th over of Australia's innings, Inglis got to his century from 43 balls. He reached his fifty and hundred by smashing maximums. Australia managed 196/5. Christopher Sole dismissed Inglis in the 19th over. Inglis came down the track to try and slap this back of a length ball over the in-field. However, the ball hit him high on the bat before being caught at extra cover. Inglis struck at 210.20 with some elegant hitting on offer. In 23 matches, Inglis has raced to 600 runs at an average of 31.57. His strike rate is 161.72. During his knock, he surpassed 50 fours (56). Before this, his maiden T20I century came against India. As per ESPNcricinfo, in 15 away matches (home of opposition), Inglis has 401 runs (100s: 2). Inglis slammed his 4th T20 century. He also owns 17 fifties. He has raced to 3,211 runs at 29-plus average. He owns a superb strike rate in excess of 147. Inglis is now the 3rd Aussie batter with multiple T20I centuries. He has equalled Aaron Finch (2). Glenn Maxwell (5) is the only other Aussie batter with multiple tons. Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis showed exactly what the side was missing in their sub-par 2024 T20 World Cup campaign with a breathtaking century in the second T20I against Scotland at Edinburgh on September 6. Despite debuting only in 2022, this was already Inglis' second T20I century after his 110 against India last year. ## Inglis' Century: A Record-Breaking Feat It was also the fastest T20I century by an Australian batter with the 29-year-old reaching the landmark in only 43 deliveries. Inglis also tied Finch with two T20I centuries - the second most by an Aussie batter behind only Glenn Maxwell with five. Inglis smashed seven boundaries and as many maximums in his sparkling display, leading to fans on Twitter going berserk with the following reactions: ## Social Media Erupts in Praise of Inglis Fans continued their praise of Inglis for his stunning knock with one saying: While Josh Inglis was going ballistic at one end, the rest of the Australian lineup struggled to come to grips with the surface in the second T20I against Scotland. They lost their first T20I star Travis Head for a golden duck in the second over and he was soon followed by Jake Fraser-McGurk in the fourth over as Australia fell to 23/2. However, Inglis took over from that point and finished on 103 off 49 deliveries to single-handedly resurrect the Aussie innings. The middle-order power-hitters Cameron Green (36 off 29), Marcus Stoinis (20* off 20), and Tim David (17* off 7) provided some support to Inglis despite the first two struggling to completely unleash. Eventually, Australia finished with a formidable 196/4 in their 20 overs as they looked to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the best-of-three T20I series. The Men in Yellow won the series opener by comfortably chasing down 155 in a mere 9.4 overs with seven wickets in hand. ## A Look Back at the Series Before the ongoing series, the two teams met only once in the shortest format - the final over thriller in the recent T20 World Cup that Australia won by five wickets. ### Looking for fast live cricket scores?
