The Chicago Bears won't have to wait long to see Keenan Allen in action. The veteran wide receiver, who was listed as questionable due to a heel injury, is expected to play in the Bears' game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Allen was trending that way all along after fully participating in practice Friday following two limited sessions. He was just one of a handful of franchise-shifting acquisitions the Bears made this offseason, having spent 11 years on the Chargers with 904 receptions, 10,530 receiving yards and 59 touchdown catches. His fifth career 100-catch season, which contributed to his sixth 1,000-yard season, took place last season before being traded. He showed he still had it then, and the Bears are confident he still has it now as part of what promises to be a three-headed receiving monster for No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams. Given his underneath prowess, Allen has all the tools to be the rookie quarterback's best friend and safety blanket. DJ Moore and another rookie, Rome Odunze, also figure to feature prominently in the rebuilt WR room to go along with the new franchise QB under center and a new lead running back, D'Andre Swift, taking handoffs. With Allen ready to go, the Bears are fully stocked on offense for Week 1. They'll have their first opportunity to show what that means at 1 p.m. ET against the Titans. The Bears had a couple of key veterans in the questionable category of their final injury report on Friday, but it looks like both of them will be ready to go against the Titans. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that wide receiver Keenan Allen and defensive end Montez Sweat are both expected to play on Sunday. Allen was limited in practice for two days by a heel injury, but he got in a full practice on Friday. Sweat followed the same schedule while dealing with a toe injury. Defensive ends Darrell Taylor (foot) and DeMarcus Walker (groin) are also listed as questionable. Defensive tackle Zacch Pickens (groin) is the only player that’s been ruled out. The inactive players for the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears have officially been revealed ahead of their season opener on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Soldier Field. Among the inactive players for the Titans is safety Jamal Adams, who has been dealing with a hip injury and was ruled out earlier in the week. Adams was unable to practice throughout the week due to the injury. For the Bears, receiver Tyler Scott and running back Roschon Johnson were both healthy scratches. Defensive end Montez Sweat and receiver Keenan Allen were both on the injury report but will play for Chicago. Here is the list of inactive players for both teams. For Tennessee, it is the first game with Bill Callahan as head coach and quarterback Will Levis enters the second season of his NFL career with a chance to cement himself as the franchise quarterback. Levis threw for 1,808 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions in nine starts as a rookie in 2023. Tennessee also made a pair of big additions in the offseason, signing receiver Calvin Ridley to a four-year deal in free agency and acquiring cornerback L'Jarius Sneed via trade from the Kansas City Chiefs. Chicago enters this season with much higher expectations than in recent years. Along with a strong finish to last season, the Bears added quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He'll make his NFL debut alongside Rome Odunze, who the Bears took with the No. 9 overall pick. The Week 1 list of Chicago Bears inactive is OUT — and there are no surprises among the bunch. Phew. Here’s who isn’t playing for the Bears today, per the team’s announcement: We already knew that defensive end Montez Sweat and wide receiver Keenan Allen were going to give it a go today. But the inactive list not including defensive ends DeMarcus Walker (missed time with a groin injury) or Darrell Taylor (foot injury) after their appearances on the injury report is a huge win. Here’s hoping each can play as much as possible. Again, there are no big shockers in this group of Bears inactive. Although, I will say that it is notable that defensive end Dominque Robinson is a healthy scratch. Chicago’s football team will have some roster crunching to do in a few weeks depending on what happens with long-snapper Patrick Scales’ back. While that is not a bridge we need to cross right now, I want to make sure that we’re aware of the bridge that is the pending bottom-of-the-roster churn that appears to be coming on the horizon. To round out this post, here is the Tennessee Titans’ list of inactive players: We’ll have more for you in our pre-game post later this morning.
