KSI is targeting the first quarter of 2025 for his own return to the ring, but he's already looking ahead to a rematch with Tommy Fury. The YouTuber/boxer said he learned a valuable lesson from his unanimous decision loss to Fury back in October — enough to pinpoint his one mistake that he feels proved costly in the fight.

KSI believes that his weight played a significant role in his loss. "I wouldn't want to make any excuses against me and Tommy," KSI began telling The Sun recently. "I think — but this is again my fault — it was the weight. I should have fought him at a weight that I was really comfortable in." He explained that he was struggling to make the 186 or 185-pound weight limit, and that this ultimately hurt his performance. "I remember when I had to weigh in, I had to drink a load of water just to try and make the weight just to try and get on to the scale and hit 185," he said.

In retrospect, KSI insists that tough lesson learned could be used to his advantage were a rematch ever to happen. "I was very light when I was fighting Tommy. Whereas now you know, I've decided to put on a lot more muscle, get a bit bigger, stronger," he said. "And I feel like if we were to have a rematch, I'd just do 10 times better."

KSI's comments come after a period of injury and disappointment. He was supposed to return to the ring on August 31 in a bizarre two-on-one tag team fight against Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor. However, he was forced to pull out of the contest after damaging his hand playing golf. According to KSI, the injury will rule him out until 2025. "I'm thinking hopefully Q1 of next year," he added of a possible return date. "I think that's what we're looking to aim at. I think any time this year it probably just doesn't make sense. And it's one of those things where the longer I let it heal, the better for the future rather than me trying to rush back into fighting again and then just get injured again."

While KSI recovers, Fury has been sidelined by hand injuries as well. Neither man has fought since their controversial bout in October 2023. Fury's boxing career has also been overshadowed by his recent split from Molly-Mae Hague. Amid the chaos in his private and professional life, Fury is still looking for a boxing lifeline. And KSI could be just the man to offer it.

Although KSI has no intention of paying Fury the same amount he did for their first fight, he is open to a rematch. "I want a rematch. We’re not going to pay him the amount that we paid him last time. ‘Cause he’s just not worth that. I think for us, we’ll just, you know, when it makes sense, we’ll do it. But yeah, I think for now I’ve got my eyes on a few other people."

It remains to be seen when KSI makes his comeback to the ring and when he throws the gauntlet at Tommy Fury for their rematch. But one thing is for sure: KSI is determined to make amends for his previous loss. And with his new approach to weight training, he's confident that he can get the better of Fury next time around.

KSI’s Misfits Boxing: A New Home for Tommy Fury?

While KSI is open to a rematch with Fury, he is also considering other options. One possibility is that Fury could join KSI's Misfits Boxing promotion. Misfits Boxing, co-founded by KSI and head honcho Mams Taylor, could be an unlikely route back into the ring for Fury.

Taylor told SunSport: "Door's open. I think he's 25, he definitely brings a lot of value. His dad is entertaining get along great with him as well. I think we're open to it. Let's see where he wants to go. It would potentially make sense. It's just gotta make sense on every front, you know? But always open to conversations."

Fury's recent controversies have caused a dip in his popularity and have made it difficult for him to secure lucrative fights with other promotions. Misfits Boxing could be a good fit for him, as they are known for giving opportunities to fighters who have been overlooked by other organizations.

The Future of KSI and Fury’s Rivalry

The rivalry between KSI and Fury is far from over. Both fighters are still young and have plenty of time to build their legacies. Whether they fight again or not, their feud has captured the attention of fans around the world and has helped to elevate the popularity of boxing among a new generation. A rematch between these two would undoubtedly be a massive event. KSI is a huge star in the YouTube and music world, and Fury is a rising star in boxing. A fight between them would generate a lot of hype and excitement.

It will be interesting to see how this rivalry unfolds in the years to come. The future of KSI and Fury’s rivalry is uncertain, but one thing is for sure: it's going to be entertaining.
