Lakers Overcome Turnover Woes, Tie Team Record for Three-Pointers
The Los Angeles Lakers overcame a shaky start and 21 turnovers to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 101-94 on Friday night.
Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 23 points and 19 rebounds, while LeBron James added 20 points and 8 rebounds. D’Angelo Russell set the Lakers franchise record for three-pointers made in a season, hitting 187 in 2023-24.
The Lakers improved to 38-32 with the win, while the 76ers fell to 38-32.
Davis Dominates Inside, James and Russell Lead Late
Davis was a force inside for the Lakers, scoring 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting and grabbing 19 rebounds. James and Russell each scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to help the Lakers pull away.
Lakers Defense Shines in Second Half
The Lakers’ defense held the 76ers to just 18 points in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia shot just 34.4% from the field for the game.
Russell Sets Lakers Record
Russell hit a three-pointer in the first quarter to set the Lakers franchise record for three-pointers made in a season. He finished the game with 14 points on 4-of-10 shooting from three-point range.
76ers Struggle Offensively
The 76ers struggled to score throughout the game, shooting just 34.4% from the field. Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 27 points, but he shot just 10-of-26 from the field.
Lakers Win Second Straight
The Lakers have now won two straight games after losing seven in a row. They will host the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night.
