Lloydminster Co-op Fuels Good Day for School Breakfast Programs

On Tuesday, September 17th, the Lloydminster and District Co-op will be hosting their annual Fuel Good Day, a community-driven initiative designed to support school breakfast programs in the region. The event is a chance for residents to fuel up their vehicles and give back to the community.

Fuel Good Day will see five cents from every liter of gas sold at the four Lloydminster and District Co-op gas bars donated to both Lloydminster Public School and Lloydminster Catholic School breakfast programs.

"LPSD is incredibly grateful to the Co-op for their generous support through Fuel Good Day. The funds raised will go directly to our breakfast programs, ensuring that our students start the day nourished and ready to learn. It’s heartwarming to see how our community comes together to invest in the well-being and success of our children," said Jason Neville, LPSD Director of Education, as he encouraged everyone to fuel up on Tuesday.

In addition to the gas station donation, the Lloydminster Co-op will also be hosting a barbecue from 4-7 p.m. All proceeds from the barbecue will benefit rural school breakfast programs.

For those with a sweet tooth, there will also be limited edition cookie slices available for purchase, with a dollar from each cookie sold being donated to the school breakfast effort.

Both school divisions and school administrators around the region are expressing their gratitude to the Lloyd Co-op and the community for their generosity. The Fuel Good Day initiative is a testament to the power of community collaboration and the shared commitment to ensuring that all students have access to nutritious meals.
