That ever-growing pile of video game statue memorabilia is getting bigger. First4Figures is releasing both a Big Boss statue based on Metal Gear Solid 3 and a Metroid Prime Samus Gravity Suit statue.

The Big Boss statue is "inspired by the poignant ending of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, where Big Boss salutes at The Boss' grave as a final tribute to his mentor". This, First4Figures says, symbolises Big Boss' "unwavering respect and the complex emotions he carries after a mission filled with betrayal and sacrifice".

The figure stands at 21.6" tall thanks to its base, so you get a few more inches of Snake than you did of Venom (for those keeping track). If you are interested in adding this chap to your collection, you can pre-order now, with pre-orders starting at $479.99 at the time of writing. The statue's estimated release is currently set for Q3 next year.

Snake Eater's Iconic Salute

With Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater's release date still effortlessly blending into its surroundings, we've got the next best thing: a glorious bust of Big Boss himself in his iconic pose at the end of Metal Gear Solid 3, showing some respect beside the grave of his mentor, The Boss. It even got its own trailer, which is how you know it's good.

Spotted by Eurogamer, the statue is the product of First4Figures and symbolises Big Boss's "unwavering respect and the complex emotions he carries after a mission filled with betrayal and sacrifice". At a towering 21.6 inches, Big Boss can serve as the centrepiece of your gaming collection, or really any room in the house, if you're committed enough. Only the most devoted soldiers will drop the $479.99 asking price; preorders are open now, and the statue is expected to ship in Q3 2025.

More Than One Version to Choose From

There is more than one version of the statue to pre-order. There is also an Exclusive Edition and Definitive Edition. The Exclusive Edition comes with an extra base that features The Boss's tombstone. You also get the Patriot weapon with flowers and a gun box. The Definitive Edition also includes all those things, along with another base containing a ghostly figure of the Boss that stands behind Big Boss.

Naturally, the Exclusive and Definitive Editions are more expensive than the regular one. Currently, you can order the Exclusive Edition directly from First4Figures for $546 and the Definitive Edition for $672. They also are slated to release late next year. So, you will likely be able to get your hands on the MGS3 Remake before these statues. That might not be so bad, as playing through the story again might give you extra appreciation for the collectible.

Saluting the Legacy of a Classic Game

It might not have a firm release date, but pre-orders for Snake Eater are now open. The statue in question is inspired by one of Metal Gear Solid 3's most memorable scenes. It is Big Boss in formal green military attire saluting the grave of his fallen mentor. Interestingly, he's attached to a little platform that's made to look like grass. The whole thing stands just under 22 inches tall and is 1/4 in scale. Also, the statue is made of resin, if that is important to you.

In a tribute to a classic Metal Gear Solid 3 scene, this Big Boss statue is saluting. He is dressed in formal military dress and stands atop a base.

Are you Metal Gear fan enough to acquire this pricey piece? Will you display your love of Big Boss, AKA Naked Snake, Vic Boss, Ishmael, Saladin, or sometimes simply as Snake? Become soldiers without borders in the comments section below.
