Metallica has confirmed that its record-breaking M72 World Tour will be extended into a third year, with the announcement of 21 North American shows spanning April, May and June 2025. The tour, which has already seen Metallica play to 3 million fans since its inception, will continue the No Repeat Weekend tradition, with each night of the two-show stands featuring entirely different setlists and support lineups.

The news comes as Metallica wraps up its 2024 run with four nights at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros, where the band will play to more than 250,000 fans over the course of two No Repeat Weekends.

New Dates, New Cities

Metallica’s 2025 tour itinerary will include stops in cities they haven't visited in quite some time, including Tampa (over 15 years!), Denver, Nashville, and a location that's been on their wish list for far too long, as they'll finally be hitting their Bay Area home field of Levi's Stadium for the first time. The tour will also see Metallica play two nights at the 2025 Sonic Temple festival, taking place May 8-11 in Columbus, Ohio.

No Repeat Weekends and Single Shows

The 2025 tour will also include several single shows with the full production, including the in-the-round stage and Snake Pit. Among them are two college football stadiums: JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, and their first-ever visit to Blacksburg, Virginia, home of the Virginia Tech Hokies. The show at Lane Stadium will mark the culmination of 20+ years of “Enter Sandman” playing as the Hokies take the field.

Support Acts

Support on M72’s 2025 North American run will come from Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies and Ice Nine Kills. Metallica is excited to welcome back two former tour mates and good friends, Limp Bizkit and Suicidal Tendencies, who will be joining the tour for select dates.

A Third Year of No Repeat Weekends: A Keeper

When the concept of the No Repeat Weekend was born a few years ago, Metallica weren't quite sure what to expect. Now - several years later - following the 40th Anniversary shows in San Francisco, an initial run of two show stands in '21 at a few festivals, and M72 weekend celebrations in 22 different cities around the world in '23 and '24, they think it's a keeper. Seeing fans from far corners of the planet connecting with other ‘Tallica family members and creating a full weekend experience together has been more than they ever dreamed it would be. There's no doubt that they need to extend this party into 2025!

The M72 World Tour is a testament to Metallica’s enduring popularity and the band’s commitment to delivering a unique and unforgettable live experience. The 2025 tour is sure to be another major event, with fans around the world eagerly awaiting the chance to see the metal legends perform live.
