Preparations for a new season of the world’s most exciting sport set to begin in November.
Following the announcement that the 2025 season opener will be the Thai GP in Buriram, MotoGP™ can now confirm the provisional pre-season testing calendar.
As ever, a one-day test for the MotoGP™ class will take place on the Tuesday following the 2024 Valencian Grand Prix at the same venue, the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
Action will re-commence early in 2025 with the Shakedown Test, which gets underway at Sepang International Circuit from the 31st of January to the 2nd of February. This is for test riders, rookies and manufacturers in concession Rank D, who are also able to attend with their full-time riders.
The official Sepang Test will then take place on the 5th, 6th and 7th of February as the full 2025 grid makes its debut.
Finally, the paddock heads for Chang International Circuit for a two-day test on the 12th and 13th of February ahead of the season opener on the 28th of February to the 2nd of March.
The 2025 MotoGP Winter Testing Schedule has been confirmed. Even with nine race weekends left in 2024, some attention has turned to 2025 as calendar announcements are slowly made.
As per usual the MotoGP Winter Tests will start in Valencia on the Tuesday after the 2024 finale. The testing will head over to Malaysia for the three-day Sepang Shakedown test, before the Official Malaysia Test.
The MotoGP pre-season testing schedule for 2025 has been announced, featuring a significant new addition: the Buriram circuit in Thailand will host tests for the first time, a move that aligns with its role as the venue for the season’s opening round.
As is traditional, the first test will take place later this year, with a single day of testing at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo following the Valencia GP on November 19. After a well-deserved break in December and January, the shakedown test in Sepang, Malaysia, is scheduled from January 31 to February 2, specifically for rookies, test riders, and teams with concessions.
The first official test of the 2025 calendar year will also be in Sepang, from February 5 to 7, followed by the final preparations in Buriram, Thailand, on February 12 and 13.

Unlike MotoGP, the two feeder categories will not have any testing days at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in November, following the Valencia GP.
However, that track will host tests in 2025: Moto3 will test on February 7 and 8, followed by Moto2 on February 9 and 10. A little over a week later, both classes will head to Jerez for additional testing from February 18 to 20.
The season will kick off from February 28 to March 2 in Buriram with the Thai GP. Unlike MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 riders will not have the opportunity to test at the circuit that hosts the season opener.
