Cleaning guru Mrs Hinch, real name Sophie Hinchliffe, has shared a 'genius' hack for cleaning your wedding and engagement rings - and it requires just two simple household ingredients. Known to her followers as Mrs Hinch, Sophie Hinchliffe took to Instagram to share her brilliant trick that only requires two household ingredients. The method is effortless, involving soaking the rings in a mixture of white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.

Cleaning Your Jewelry with Mrs. Hinch's Hack

In her initial video post, she noted: "Quickly popping my jewellery in a bicarb bath for a clean." She then detailed the precise recipe and duration, stating: "Mixture of 12 cup white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of bicarb for two to three hours." Afterwards, "rinse them under cold water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth" she advised. Upon mixing, the solution will begin to fizz, which Mrs Hinch handles by covering the bowl with a cloth, reports the Mirror.

Why Does This Work?

The power of white vinegar lies in its ability to dissolve dirt and bacteria without damaging the item's appearance, while bicarbonate of soda works hand in hand with the vinegar to cut through grease and restore shine.

A Toilet Stain Savior: Harpic 10x Black Bottle Bleach

Another one of Mrs Hinch's brilliant cleaning hacks tackles a common British bugbear - stubborn toilet stains. Startling statistics have come to light indicating that 14% of Brits neglect to use cleaning products in their bathrooms, and nearly half only spruce up when expecting visitors. But ignoring your loo can lead to unpleasant stains and limescale build-up, primarily composed of calcium and magnesium, Tissino cautions. This accumulation can hinder water flow and drainage over time, and eliminating hard water stains becomes increasingly challenging. Additionally, it detracts from the much-desired immaculate bathroom look.

A member of the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group found themselves in this exact predicament and sought advice from the community. They posted: "What's the best way of getting rid of hard water/rust stains in the toilet?" More than 150 members chimed in with their suggestions in the comments section, yet one standout product was repeatedly recommended. A helpful user wrote: "Harpic 10x black bottle bleach, it's amazing. Put it all over and leave for two to three hours or longer and brush. You can put some more on and leave again for an hour and brush and flush. It might need another going over." The suggestion garnered 38 positive reactions, prompting one member to respond: "I agree," whilst another added: "Another vote for black Harpic."

The Verdict

Black Harpic has emerged as a popular choice for tackling stubborn toilet stains among members of the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group. Many users attest to its effectiveness, recommending that it be applied generously and left for several hours, or even overnight, to yield the desired results. While some users mention using a Harpic tablet for particularly stubborn stains, the general consensus is that the Harpic 10x black bottle bleach is a reliable solution for restoring the cleanliness of your toilet bowl.
