National Cinema Day: Ireland Celebrates the Magic of Cinema with €5 Tickets

More cinemas than ever across the Republic of Ireland will be celebrating National Cinema Day this year with admission tickets reduced to just €5. The initiative, which is designed to celebrate the experience of cinema-going, is supported by Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland.

Taking place on Saturday, August 31st, National Cinema Day is expected to be a huge success, with over 99% of cinemas nationwide participating. Audiences will have a chance to enjoy a wide variety of new and recent releases, including family favorites.

A Celebration of Cinema in Ireland

The cinema industry in Ireland has united to celebrate the ritual of cinema-going and its importance in Irish life and culture. This year's event is particularly significant as it comes on the heels of a huge summer at the box office, with both international and Irish films drawing large crowds.

Last year's National Cinema Day was a resounding success, with over 217,000 admissions. This year, the cinema industry is hoping to see even more moviegoers out enjoying the big screen.
