The Netherlands will head to Budapest for a UEFA Nations League clash in against Hungary on Friday.

The Netherlands are sitting comfortably in second place in the group, they are coming off two high-scoring action-packed games in September. Led by their dynamic attack, they have proven they can score goals, but they’ll also be looking to shore up defensively to avoid any surprises in Budapest. A win here would keep them in strong contention for advancing in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Hungary find themselves at the bottom of the group, having taken just one point from their first two games. Despite a winless start to their Nations League campaign, they’ll be hoping that playing at home in Budapest can inspire them to pull off a surprise result against a strong Dutch side.

Below, we'll outline the best live TV streaming services to use to watch the game live wherever you are in the world.

How to Watch the Match in the US

Today's game is on Fubo Sports Network, the streaming platform's dedicated sports service.

There's a lot to like about Fubo. In addition to it's own Fubo Sports Network, it offers a wide selection of channels, plus its sports focus makes it especially attractive to soccer fans, as well as NBA, NHL and MLB fans who live in an area served by one of Fubo's RSNs. It's also a great choice for NFL fans, since it's one of three services, alongside YouTube TV and Hulu, that offer NFL Network and optional RedZone. The biggest hole in Fubo's lineup is the lack of Warner Bros. Discovery networks, including HGTV, Food Network, Cartoon Network, CNN, TNT and TBS -- especially since the latter two carry a lot of sports content, in particular NBA, NHL and MLB. Those missing channels, and the $80 price tag, makes it less attractive than YouTube TV for most viewers. Read our Fubo review.

How to Watch the Match in the UK

While this match won't be broadcast by a traditional linear network in the UK, the great news for footy fans is that the game will be available to watch live and for free via the Viaplay International YouTube channel with kick-off scheduled for 7:45pm BST.

If you find yourself unable to view this Nations League fixture locally, you may need a different way to watch the match -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

A DAZN subscription currently costs CA$25 a month or CA$200 a year and will also give you access to the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League, plus EFL Championship soccer, Six Nations rugby and WTA tennis.

As well as dedicated apps for iOS and Android, there's a wide range of support for set-top boxes and smart TVs.

With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. Most VPNs, like our Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN, make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It's normally $13 a month, but if you sign up for an annual subscription for $100 you'll get three months free and save 49%. That's the equivalent of $6.67 a month with code SPECIALDEAL, which should be automatically applied.

Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

The Match

The Netherlands head to Hungary for a Nations League clash later today.

Ronald Koeman’s side enjoyed a productive start to their campaign last month after reaching the Euro 2024 semi-finals, beating Bosnia-Herzegovina in their first game back before drawing with bitter rivals Germany.

It means the Oranje are just behind the Germans in the group and, as a result, they will no doubt feel confident ahead of tonight’s meeting in Budapest.

The Hungarians, meanwhile, were tipped as potential dark horses at Euro 2024 but did not make it out of the group stage despite a dramatic late win over Scotland. They were then thrashed by Germany and drew with Bosnia-Herzegovina last time out without scoring a goal.

The Netherlands will look to return to winning ways

Netherlands had star man Virgil van Dijk sent off in a 1-1 draw with Hungary in the UEFA Nations League on Friday night.

The early warning signs were there for the Netherlands, with Roland Sallai striking the post with a thumping effort in the 17th minute, and the breakthrough arrived just past the half-hour mark, with the same player on the scoresheet.

Netherlands would not have been too concerned when Zsolt Nagy picked up the ball, but he delivered a sensational cross into the penalty box, and Sallai was on hand to convert into the back of the net.

The visitors incredibly had 84% of the ball in the opening 45 minutes of action, but Hungary scored with their only attempt on target, and Netherlands were finding it difficult to carve out clear openings in the Nations League fixture.

Netherlands did have a chance to score from an indirect free kick late in the first half after a mix-up at the back involving goalkeeper Denes Dibusz and Dominik Szoboszlai, but the Hungarian stopper managed to keep out Cody Gakpo's effort.

Ronald Koeman's side were reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute when Van Dijk picked up a second booking in quick succession for a lunge on Kevin Csoboth, giving Holland a mountain to climb.

However, Netherlands managed to level the scores in the 83rd minute when Denzel Dumfries headed a brilliant free kick from Gakpo into the back of the net to earn his side a point.

The result has left Netherlands second in Group 3 of League A, boasting five points from their opening three matches, while Hungary sit in third spot, having collected two points from their first three matches.

Key Moments from the Match

32nd min: Hungary 1-0 Netherlands (Roland Sallai)

Hungary make the breakthrough in the 32nd minute of the contest through Sallai; Nagy delivers an excellent cross into the Netherlands box, and the number 20 is on hand at the far post to convert into the back of the net.

79th min: Virgil van Dijk red card

Netherlands are reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute of the contest, as Van Dijk picks up a second yellow card for a lunge on Csoboth, who was breaking into a dangerous position.

83rd min: Hungary 1-1 Netherlands (Denzel Dumfries)

Netherlands level the scores in the 83rd minute of the contest, as Dumfries heads a free kick from Gakpo into the back of the net. Huge moment for the 10-man visitors!

Who Was the Man of the Match?

Nagy was the star of the show on Friday night, with the left-sided wing-back putting in an excellent performance for Hungary, and it was his brilliant assist that allowed the hosts to make the breakthrough.

The 31-year-old had an excellent game all-round, though, winning four tackles, with his defensive work particularly crucial when Netherlands were threatening the Hungarian goal.

Post Match Stats

Looking Ahead

Netherlands will be bidding to return to winning ways when they head to Germany on Monday night, but they will be without the services of Van Dijk following his red card on Friday night.

Hungary, meanwhile, will be bidding to build on what was a positive performance against Koeman's side when they take on Bosnia-Herzegovina on Monday evening.

Conclusion

The Netherlands have proven their strength and scoring prowess in the Nations League, while Hungary faces an uphill battle in their quest to remain in the top flight. The clash in Budapest is set to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams eager to secure a crucial victory. Don’t miss the action as the two teams face off on Friday. Enjoy the game!
