The Baltimore Ravens aren't messing around in their Week 2 matchup this afternoon against the Las Vegas Raiders. The offense has left a bit to be desired, but the defense has been stout as expected. One player in particular has been an absolute menace early and often, sacking Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew not once, but twice in the first quarter.

It didn't take Ravens linebacker Odafe Oweh long to get his first sack of the game. In fact, it only took one play. On the game's first play, Oweh blew right by the Raiders offensive lineman to hammer Minshew in the backfield for an eight-yard loss.

It was a tough first play for Minshew. The play was a bit of a preview for what was to come for the rest of the quarter.

Later in the first quarter, on a third-and-short, Oweh goes unblocked off the edge and annihilates an unprotected Minshew who's lucky he held onto the ball. He flies off the line like a rocket and there is no chance for Minshew to make a play.

Oweh's first quarter is part of a bigger picture - we are witnessing a true transformation. He always had the talent, it was more about when he'd show his potential on Sundays. Suffice it to say, he has arrived.

After a relatively quiet Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Oweh is making sure he doesn't have another quiet game. We are truly witnessing a transformation.

If the Ravens want to secure a win here against the Raiders, getting after the quarterback will be essential. Their ground game is suspect, so Minshew will have to beat the Ravens with his arm if they want any chance in this game. Unfortunately, that strategy hasn't worked well for them so far, allowing Oweh to feast in the backfield.

Circle Sunday, September 15, 2024, on your calendars—it’s Odafe Oweh’s breakout party. He’s on fire today, and at this rate, smashing a new sack record wouldn’t be shocking. With two sacks under his belt already in today’s game, he’s matched his personal best.

If this is his breakout game, Oweh will surely be in the Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) conversation by season's end.

Odafe Oweh: A Force To Be Reckoned With

Odafe Oweh’s matchup with the Raiders Kolton Miller was something to watch, and through the first quarter of Baltimore’s matchup against Las Vegas, the Ravens pass rusher has looked unstoppable. Baltimore has played two defensive drives, and Oweh has a sack on each. His sack on third-and-four forces the Raiders to punt. Oweh had five sacks all of last season.

A Tale Of Two Games

After a quiet performance in the Week 1 game against the Chiefs, Oweh has truly stepped up his game in this Week 2 matchup. His two sacks on the Raiders' first two drives of the game were a clear indication of his dominance. The Raiders are in trouble if he keeps this up throughout the game.

Oweh's Impact: A Threat For The Raiders

If Oweh can continue his strong performance, it will be a long day for the Raiders. He has already shown a clear dominance over the Raiders' offensive line. Oweh has the potential to become a key player for the Ravens this season if he can keep up this level of performance. His speed and agility were on full display in the first quarter, which has created a major concern for the Raiders and has undoubtedly put the Raiders on notice.

Oweh's Breakout: Is This The Start Of Something Big?

Odafe Oweh's breakout performance in this Week 2 game against the Raiders could be a turning point in his career. He has shown a new level of aggression and determination that could lead to a truly dominant season. With his early performance in this game, the possibility of Oweh earning Defensive Player of the Year is no longer a far-fetched idea. Oweh has been a force to be reckoned with, and his breakout game could be a sign of things to come.

Oweh’s Dominance: A Threat For The Raiders

It's clear that the Ravens are going to lean heavily on their defense to secure a win against the Raiders. It is important to note that while Oweh has had a dominant first quarter, it is still early in the game. If the Raiders are able to adjust their offensive scheme and limit Oweh's impact on the game, they may have a chance to win. However, if Oweh continues his dominance, then the Raiders are in for a long afternoon.
