The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer, and we're having to get our big winter coats out again. This means that autumn is finally here and that Richard Osman's House of Games is back for an eighth (!) season. As usual, quiz show mastermind Richard Osman will be putting four celebrities through their paces, as his contestants through five rounds in as many days. These rounds include general knowledge questions, team-ups, and, of course, the infamous "Answer Smash" round. But which celebrities will feature first in this new series? Here's everything you need to know.

The First Celebrity Contestants

Ahir Shah, Michaela Strachan, Dr Xand van Tulleken and Vogue Williams are the first batch of contestants to feature in The latest series, which is set to have a whopping 100 episodes. But who exactly are they? Let's find out a little more about each of them.

Ahir Shah

Ahir Shah, 33, is a stand-up comedian. He won the Edinburgh Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe after being nominated for the award twice before, in 2017 and 2018. His stand-up show, ENDS, was released on Netflix earlier in September.

Michaela Strachan

Michaela Strachan, 58, is a television presenter. She is best known for her work presenting shows like Springwatch and The Really Wild Show.

Dr Xand van Tulleken

And as you might have guessed, Dr Xand van Tulleken is, well, a doctor. The 46-year-old has fronted several documentaries in the past, including CBBC's Operation Ouch and Channel 4's How To Lose Weight Well.

Vogue Williams

Last but not least is Vogue Williams, 38. The Irish model and TV personality has participated in shows like Dancing With The Stars, Stepping Out, and Bear Grylls: Mission Survive. She is also married to Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews.

What to Expect from the New Series

Richard Osman hosts the teatime quiz where a group of four famous faces go toe to toe in testing their general knowledge skills in a variety of entertaining games. In the first week of the new series, celebrity contestants Ahir Shah, Michaela Strachan, Dr Xand van Tulleken and Vogue Williams take on a series of quiz rounds selected by the host, quiz legend Richard Osman. A daily winner is declared following a quickfire round at the end of each show, and the scores are tallied across the week, resulting in an overall champion being crowned on Friday. Will the winning stars opt for the much-coveted House of Games suitcase, or will they be tempted with the House of Games bee hotel?

When and Where to Watch

Richard Osman's House Of Games returns Monday 23rd September at 6pm on BBC Two. Episodes will then continue every weekday at the same time on the same channel. The episodes will be available on iPlayer after transmission.

Final Thoughts

With a new batch of celebrity contestants and 100 episodes in store, the new series of Richard Osman's House of Games promises to be another entertaining and engaging watch for fans of the show. The series is sure to provide plenty of laughs and challenges for the contestants, as well as for viewers at home. So, get ready to test your own general knowledge skills against the stars and see if you can outsmart them all.
