Grammy-winning live electronic trio Rufus Du Sol scores its first No. 1 on dance radio with its recent hit single “Music is Better” claiming the top spot on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. The news arrives on the heels of their electrifying headline performance at Portola Music Festival in San Francisco this past Saturday and the release of their latest track, “Pressure,” on Friday.

“Music is Better” served as the lead single from their highly-anticipated forthcoming fifth studio album Inhale/Exhale, out October 11th via Rose Avenue/Reprise Records. In addition to “Pressure,” it is joined by earlier singles “Lately,” and “Break My Love,” the latter of which is featured on the EA Sports FC 25 official soundtrack.

The new album will mark a new creative groove for the band, an era that is defined by enjoying the process and creating from the now while binding organic and electronic. The album encompasses the themes that have endeared fans for over a decade – romance, heartbreak, euphoria, despair – through a medley of sprawling, mature soundscapes.

Rufus Du Sol will return to festival stages next year as the only electronic headliner on all three South American editions of Lollapalooza 2025.

RÜFÜS DU SOL have released ‘Pressure‘, the fourth single off of the Grammy Award-winning Australian trio’s highly-anticipated fifth studio album Inhale / Exhale, which will come out on October 11th via Rose Avenue/Reprise Records. This track represents another grand step in the magnificent careers of Jon George, James Hunt, and Tyrone Lindqvist as they continue enhancing their unforgettable musical styles. RÜFÜS DU SOL supply upbeat melodies and outstanding rhythms in ‘Pressure’ that match very well with exquisite synths and compelling lyrics.

The track has joined the trio’s other tracks from the forthcoming Inhale / Exhale album that they have already released; ‘Music Is Better’, ‘Lately’, and ‘Break My Love’ (the latter is in the official EA SPORTS FC 25 video game soundtrack. Grammy award-winning electronic music group RÜFÜS DU SOL are just on the cusp of releasing their fifth studio album Inhale / Exhale on October 11th. In celebration, they’re bringing it all back home for a one-of-a-kind live performance on Sydney Harbour.

RÜFÜS DU SOL will take to the Fleet Steps at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney at sunset on October 10th to treat their fans to an early snippet of their forthcoming project. Along with the new music, the group’s meticulous attention to revolutionising their live shows will create a spiritual journey through the blend of atmospheric, electronic soundscapes and live instrumentation, all to the backdrop of the gorgeous outdoors and Sydney Harbour at sunset.

With the announcement, the band have also launched an ominous, cryptic countdown on their website, which fans have suspected alludes to more live shows that could be right around the corner.

In a press release, this chapter of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s artistic journey reads as a “new creative groove” for the band. 

“The trio’s next era is defined by enjoying the process and creating from the now while binding organic and electronic, with the album encompassing the themes that have endeared fans for over a decade – romance, heartbreak, euphoria, despair – through a medley of sprawling, mature soundscapes.”

It’s been three years since the trio released their last studio album Surrender, which has since won them a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Recording, and brought them home a fifth ARIA award. Taking Surrender to stages across North America, as well as running the second edition of their boutique festival Sundream Festival in San José del Cabo last year, it’s honourable that the group are now letting their Aussie fans in on the first taste of the new project as well as a unique hometown show.

Inhale / Exhale represents a new chapter for the trio, with the group describing this era as one where they’re just enjoying the process and creating in the moment. RÜFÜS DU SOL have topped the ARIA Albums Chart three times, with their albums Surrender (2021), Atlas (2013), and Bloom (2016) all debuting at #1. They’ve also earned five ARIA Awards, including Best Group and Best Dance Release for their hit single “Alive.”

Their global recognition was cemented when Surrender won the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording in 2022, making them the only Australian winners at that year’s ceremony.
