St. Theresa's School embraced the Olympic spirit, transforming its campus into a vibrant hub of cultural exchange and friendly competition. The event, brimming with color and unity, aimed to foster cultural awareness and international camaraderie.
Cultural Tapestry Unveiled
Principal Julian Ineson highlighted the event's significance in connecting students with diverse cultures. "We have 16 countries represented here today, reflecting our school's rich demographic tapestry," he said. Students and families from Brazil, Sri Lanka, South Africa, the Philippines, and Zimbabwe adorned the school grounds, sharing their cultural heritage.
The opening ceremony set the tone for the day, featuring an energetic aerobics display, the arrival of the Olympic torch and flag, and the recitation of the athletes' oath. Sixteen teams, representing different countries, paraded around the stadium, led by their flagbearers, mirroring the grandeur of the Olympic athletes' march.
Sportsmanship Takes Center Stage
Students engaged in a range of modified sports, including golf, hockey, and horse racing, tailored to accommodate all skill levels and foster inclusivity. The focus was on participation, teamwork, and the joy of sportsmanship. Mr. Ineson expressed his delight at the children's active engagement, particularly the older students mentoring the younger ones.

Ineson emphasized the alignment between the Olympic values and St. Theresa's school ethos. "The Olympic Games values resonate deeply with our school values, and we actively seek opportunities to instill these values in our pupils," he said.
