The game will also be the site of ESPN's College GameDay coverage starting at 9 a.m. ET, with Rece Davis, former Alabama football coach Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit previewing the SEC showdown between the two teams. Here's how to watch the Texas vs. Georgia game this Saturday, and keep up with live game-day updates here.

Where to Watch the Texas vs. Georgia Game

You can watch coverage of this weekend's game between the Bulldogs and the Longhorns starting at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Fubo TV

DirecTV Stream

DirecTV Stream's Choice tier (currently $105.98/month with fees) gets you access to all the usual football suspects: NFL Network, ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. Plus the Choice tier will get you CBSSN, FS1, ACC Network, Big Ten Network, SEC Network and plenty of local RSNs. The best part is, currently you can try all this out for free. So if you're interested in trying out a live TV streaming service for football season, but aren't ready to commit, we recommend starting with DirecTV Stream.

Game Preview

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs (5-1) are set to be underdogs for the first time since their 2021 season opener when they go on the road to face the No. 1 Texas Longhorns (6-0) on Saturday night. Georgia lost its No. 1 ranking when it fell to Alabama at the end of September, but it is still squarely in the College Football Playoff hunt. Texas won its sixth consecutive game to open the season when it beat then-No. 18 Oklahoma in a 34-3 final in the Red River Rivalry last week. This is the first meeting between these schools since Texas notched a 28-21 win in the 2019 Sugar Bowl.

Key Matchups

This will be the first top-five matchup at Darrell K. Royal Stadium since 2006, so Texas will have a massive crowd advantage on Saturday night. The Longhorns remained atop the polls this week following their 34-3 win over then-No. 18 Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, giving them six wins this season by 19-plus points. Junior quarterback Quinn Ewers returned from an abdominal strain to throw for 199 yards and a touchdown while rushing for another score.

Ewers was able to overcome a sluggish start against the Sooners and establish some momentum heading into this game. Texas is riding an 11-game home winning streak and has covered the spread in five of its first six games this season, while Georgia has been overrated by the betting market, failing to cover the spread in five straight outings. The Bulldogs were blitzed by Alabama in the first half of their other top-five matchup this season, so Texas will be looking to follow a similar script early in the game on Saturday.

Georgia's Road to Redemption

Georgia has been inconsistent at times this season, but it crushed then-No. 14 Clemson in its season opener and nearly pulled off a massive comeback against then-No. 4 Alabama at the end of September. The Bulldogs trailed the Crimson Tide 28-0 early in the second quarter before taking a 34-33 lead in the fourth quarter. Alabama was able to score 13 seconds later to win the game, so Georgia needs to avoid another loss on Saturday.

Senior quarterback Carson Beck has completed 67.9% of his passes for 1,818 yards and 15 touchdowns, while junior running back Trevor Etienne leads the rushing attack with 335 yards and four scores. Senior wide receiver Arian Smith has a team-high 23 receptions for 412 yards and three touchdowns. The Bulldogs have won 16 of their last 17 road games and are rarely available as betting underdogs.

The Stakes Are High

No. 5 Georgia and No. 1 Texas are set to do battle Saturday night in Austin, TX at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. Georgia is looking to clinch bowl eligibilty by improving their record to 6-1 while also looking to get back in the driver's seat when it comes to making it to the SEC Championship game.

The Bulldogs have a lot of difficult games remaining on their schedule, but none will be more difficult than this. In fact, Georgia is an underdog for the first time since 2021.

The Biggest Game of the Year?

The SEC game of the year is here! Tonight, under the DKR lights the No. 1 Texas Longhorns will host the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs.

The Horns will try to keep the hype train rolling. The Longhorns are undefeated so far, with big wins over Michigan and Oklahoma. But neither the Wolverines or Sooners were as good as preseason prognosticators thought they would be, so Georgia might be Texas’ first real test.

For Georgia, this game amounts to a must win. Once preseason No. 1, the Bulldogs have wobbled so far this season. A few weeks ago, Georgia lost to Alabama and last week it was less than impressive against Mississippi State. Another loss could deal a real blow to Georgia’s postseason aspirations.

College GameDay Coverage

ESPN will kickoff the day with College GameDay from the South Mall of the UT Campus. Scottie Scheffler will serve as the guest picker

Game Time

TV Channel: ABC

Start time: 7:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. ET

Texas vs. Georgia will broadcast nationally on ABC in Week 8 of the 2024 SEC season. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will call the game from the booth at DKR with Holly Rowe and Katie George reporting from the sidelines.

ESPN+

ESPN+ will also carry the game. It is a streaming service that costs $10 per month or $100 per year and can be accessed with an internet connection. You can also get ESPN+ with a Disney+ bundle for $13 a month.

Prediction

Has Texas benefitted from what became an easier schedule? We’ll see. Georgia is a talented team that was Preseason No. 1 for a reason. But UT has been better at almost every position this season.

Until proven otherwise, this team looks championship caliber legit.

Texas 38, Georgia 24
