One of Canada's Largest Electronic Music Festivals Returns to Toronto

Get ready to groove! VELD Music Festival, one of Canada's biggest electronic music festivals, is back in Toronto, bringing three days of non-stop beats to Downsview Park from August 2 to 4.

The festival boasts an impressive lineup featuring some of the biggest names in EDM. Get ready to dance to the sounds of Kaskade, Marshmello, Steve Aoki, and Alesso, among many others.

VELD Music Festival Lineup

The festival is spread out over three days, with a rotating roster of artists performing on three massive outdoor stages.

Friday, August 2

Friday kicks off with a bang, featuring headliners Gryffin and Fisher. If you're looking for something a little different, Toronto actor Shamier Anderson, known for his role in John Wick 4, will be spinning a DJ set from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Saturday, August 3

Saturday is all about the big names. Sam Feldt and Frank Walker will be taking the main stage, followed by an unforgettable night with Steve Aoki, Kaskade, and Marshmello, who are set to perform from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Sunday, August 4

Get ready for a final day of unforgettable music with headliners Alesso, Alok, and Kream on the main stage. The Sirkus stage will be hosting Green Velvet and Boys Noize.

Navigating VELD Music Festival

VELD has introduced a new app to help attendees navigate the festival with ease. The app features a scheduling tool, allowing you to create your own personalized festival plan and keep track of all the artists you want to see. The app also includes a map of the festival grounds, ensuring you don't get lost while traveling between stages.

Besides the app, VELD offers a printable phone wallpaper that lists all the artists in order of set times, helping you stay organized throughout the weekend.

Festival Essentials

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, VELD has implemented a few key policies:

  • No re-entry: Once you enter the festival grounds, you cannot leave and return.
  • Bag size restrictions: Only bags smaller than 12 x 12 inches are permitted.
  • No professional cameras: Professional cameras are prohibited, but personal cameras and phones are allowed.
  • Cashless environment: VELD is now entirely cashless, so you'll need to use a credit or debit card to purchase food, beverages, or merchandise on-site.

You can find a comprehensive list of prohibited and permitted items on the festival's website.

TTC Service Adjustments

To accommodate the festival, the TTC has announced a temporary service disruption on Line 1. On Friday, August 2, subway service between Sheppard West and St Clair West stations will end at 11:59 p.m. for pre-planned track work. Shuttle buses will be available to transport passengers. Regular service will resume at 6 a.m. the following morning.

Getting Festival Ready

With the festival just around the corner, many Torontonians are getting ready to show off their best festival looks. Social media is buzzing with outfit inspiration, with festival-goers sharing their unique styles, from rave-inspired outfits to trendy streetwear.

After-Parties

The fun doesn't stop when the main festival ends. VELD is hosting 12 after-parties across three different venues: Rebel, Department, and Vertigo. These parties will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, extending the festival vibes long after the main stages close.

Staying Hydrated at VELD

Dancing the day and night away under the summer sun can be tiring, so remember to stay hydrated. VELD has partnered with Quench Buggy to provide free hydration throughout the festival grounds, ensuring you can keep your energy up all weekend long.
