The first full Saturday of college football ends when the Wyoming Cowboys travel to Tempe to face the Arizona State Sun Devils. There has already been a lot of betting action on this game with The odds making Arizona State a 7-point home favorite and the total set at 47.5.
Arizona State -7
Total: 47.5
Moneyline: Arizona State -285, Wyoming +230

We have already seen some significant line movement on this game since the spread was released in May. The spread dipped to 6.5 after an influx of pro money came in on Wyoming +7 early. It stayed at 6.5 most of the summer and then this week the number moved back to Arizona State -7.
This is expected to be a lower-scoring game, although the total has moved two points. It opened 45.5 in June but has been bet up to 47.5 heading into Saturday.
LSU vs. USC odds: Bettors backing underdog Trojans
I think there is some value on Wyoming in this matchup. Head coach Craig Bohl retired but the culture won’t change much in Laramie with the hiring of Jay Sawvel. Sawvel was the defensive coordinator at Wyoming under Bohl from 2020-2023.
Sawvel inherits a veteran team on both sides of the ball. The Cowboys did lose leading rusher Harrison Waylee to a knee injury this summer but Wyoming is deep at the running back position and has an experienced offensive line. This should be your typical Cowboys squad that runs the football well and leans on a strong defense.
Arizona State looks to be a little overmatched heading into the Big 12. Head Coach Kenny Dillingham is trying to upgrade the talent and depth with a bunch of transfers. However, the Sun Devils still lack explosiveness on offense and need to get better up front on both lines. That's where a physical Wyoming squad could have the edge.
Wyoming is flying under the radar in the Mountain West Conference. If quarterback Evan Svoboda develops, the Cowboys will be better than many are predicting. Look for this game to be hard-fought and tight throughout. I'll take the seven points with Wyoming.
