Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum are currently performing one of the sacred rites of Hollywood couples: going on a press tour together. The couple are promoting their film Blink Twice—Kravitz’s directorial debut, which Tatum is starring in—meaning lots of shared red carpet time. Which way were they going to head? High contrast à la Justin and Hailey Bieber? Big Bottega shapes like Rihanna and A$AP? Each doing their own thing, Zendaya and Tom Holland style? Turns out: none of that. Kravitz and Tatum have both kept it fairly simple; lots of black, lots of The Row, lots of Saint Laurent, and a bit of Versace if ya nasty. But for their London premiere, both chose the classics. Kravitz wore a Saint Laurent lace camisole and pencil skirt set with black slingback pumps, while Tatum wore a single-breasted suit by The Row.

But then there were the true markers of It-couple dominance: they both wore some red hot shades.

For Kravitz, it was her ‘Jeanne’ glasses (specifically the SL 751 style) by Saint Laurent, a slim oval-shape pair with nylon lenses and engraved temples. This is a go-to for her and you can see why—the elongated oval-shape has a slight ’90s feel, and it does classic without skewing boring.

Tatum, meanwhile, went for another classic. His round frame glasses are by Oliver Peoples, the ‘Gregory Peck Sun’ style in black. (Fun fact, these are the same model worn by Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird.) A pair will set you back £341.

Even though their glasses aren’t the exact same, it still has the same effect. They’re put together! They’re coordinated! They look a little like that couple who arrive at a party for a high glam, mythological 15 minutes before dropping a smoke bomb to go eat Chinese food alone in their beautiful brownstone. It's golden age Hollywood. It doesn't try too hard. It still taps into his ‘n’ hers fit.

Hot couple sunglasses are a powerful thing.

When it comes to Hollywood couples, many high-profile duos dress to be noticed. There’s Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s masterful streetwear, and Justin and Hailey Bieber’s polar-opposite off-duty style. Whether on the red carpet or enjoying a day off, A-list pairs always step out with a clear fashion vision in mind. Another such couple? Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum. While promoting their new film Blink Twice this month, which Kravitz directed and Tatum stars in, the duo have opted for a stealthy and discreet aesthetic, choosing looks that whisper elegance rather than scream it from the rooftops.

Take the couple’s photo call appearance in London this weekend. Styled by Andrew Mukamal, Kravitz and Tatum did all-black dressing in a sophisticated, not boring way. Kravitz leaned into lingerie dressing with a Saint Laurent lace camisole and skirt, while Tatum slipped into slick tailoring by The Row—giving his black suit a cool slant with a white Tee and square-toe loafers.

It’s not the only subtly-cool ensembles the couple have delivered on the red carpet. Back at the film’s L.A. premiere earlier this month, they mastered all-black again; Kravitz wore a slinky, silky Saint Laurent gown with side cutouts, while Tatum looked to Versace for another streamlined black suit.

What makes their couple style so refreshing? A commitment to dressing in sync yet going so understated that you have to squint to appreciate it. So often, Hollywood couples wear outfits that clammer for your attention. Kravitz and Tatum are proving that, sometimes, the best looks are the ones that sit back, relax, and wait for you to notice them.

It took quite a while—three years, exactly—for Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum to officially make their red carpet debut. But, judging by their recent string of looks, the couple needed next to no time to jointly nail a step and repeat.

For their latest couple appearance, a photo call for Kravitz’s directorial debut Blink Twice, the duo doubled down on their joint penchant for the color black. Kravitz, of course, slipped into a full Saint Laurent look from the French brand’s pre-fall 2024 collection. The actress-turned-director personified cool girl chic in a black camisole that was trimmed with lace. She paired her lingerie top with a low-rise skirt that finished off just below the knee. Kravitz finished off her outfit with sleek sling back pumps, gold jewelry, cat-eye shades. She tied up her hair into space buns.

Tatum, who plays a tech billionaire named Slater King in Kravitz’s film, followed his fiancé’s lead during the London event. The actor kicked off his outfit with a white t-shirt before layering a black suit jacket and baggy dress pants over top. He accessorized with black glasses and classic loafers.

Earlier this month, Kravitz and Tatum hit the red carpet for the first time as a couple during the Blink Twice Los Angeles premiere. On that occasion, the recently-engaged duo again slipped into monochrome outfits. Kravitz sported a floor-length gown from Saint Laurent that featured cut-out details at the hip. Tatum again opted for tailoring, this time pairing his suit jacket with a white dress shirt. Although the couple did appear at the 2021 Met Gala together, this was their first time posing for photos together on the step and repeat.

Prior to the film’s premiere, Kravitz spoke to the crowd about the process of making the film and just how involved Tatum was in doing so.

“From producing to performing to the pep talks to holding my head or my feet while I cried on the bathroom floor because I thought I fucked it all up, thank you for letting me be a complete OCD psycho control freak. Thank you for your patience,” she told her fiancé. “Making this film with you has been an awfully great adventure. Thank you for trusting me to female direct you.”

Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum are setting a new standard for couple style in Hollywood. As the engaged pair continues the press tour for Blink Twice—a psychological thriller that Kravitz produced, cowrote, and directed, and in which Tatum starred—the two are also beginning to show off inklings of their joint edgy style.

At a photo call on Sunday in London, Kravitz and Tatum appeared in coordinated black outfits—like The Matrix, but make it fashion. Kravitz, who often wears Saint Laurent for red-carpet events, once again tapped the luxury French fashion house, pairing a lacy black camisole with a slightly transparent lace midi skirt. She rounded out the look with oval-shaped shades, glossy slingback pumps, and an array of sleek gold jewelry.

As for Tatum, the actor looked cool in a relaxed black blazer and slouchy trousers, which he styled with a fitted white T-shirt, black leather loafers, and his own pair of black sunglasses.

The two previously wore all-black outfits to the Los Angeles premiere of Blink Twice. At the time, Kravitz wowed in a silky black Saint Laurent gown with midriff-baring cutouts at her waist, while Tatum wore a black suit with a white collared shirt.

“Working with your partner truly is—you know, I know a lot of people are afraid of it—it was the thing that cemented us in a way,” Tatum previously said of his on-set relationship with Kravitz during an interview with Extra. “It just brought us together.”

He added, “If you have a partner and you’re thinking about, ‘Is this the one for me?’ go and find the hardest possible project that you can find together. Build a room, paint a room, make some sort of creative project, and not just if you got through it, but if you like enjoyed doing it with each other. Because it’s going to be hard, it’s gonna be hard at times. Unless you can look at each other and be like, ‘Oh man, this is really hard right now,’ and really that brings you together and not apart, that’s the way.”

Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum are showing off two things: love and style.

The engaged couple was photographed in London during a photocall for “Blink Twice” photocall on Sunday wearing edgy ensembles that gave off “cool couple” vibes.

Kravitz, known to wear Saint Laurent for several past red carpets, wore a look from the luxury label that included a black, sheer lace-trimmed tank and matching knee-length skirt. She paired the looks with shiny slingback pumps, gold shoes, and small oval-shaped sunglasses.

Her makeup was kept minimal, and her hair was pulled back in a sleek, tight chignon bun.

On Monday, the two made yet another rare red-carpet appearance together for the film’s European premiere, where Kravitz stepped out in a sizzling red-hot gown. Meanwhile, Tatum opted for a classic black tux.

Tatum also opted for dark shades — pairing his look with a black blazer, trousers, a white T-shirt, and loafers.

The duo had the opportunity to collaborate for the upcoming film that Kravitz directed and co-wrote with E.T. Feigenbaum.

The trailer opens with Tatum, who plays a tech billionaire, Slater King, meeting a cocktail waitress, Frida, played by Naomi Ackie, at a fundraising gala. He invites Frida to join him on a dream vacation on a private island, and things take a turn from there.

“Wild nights blend into sun soaked days and everyone's having a great time,” according to a synopsis for the film. “No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality.”

The synopsis continued, “There is something wrong with this place. She'll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out of this party alive.”

Originally titled, “P***y Island,” the upcoming thriller serves as Kravitz’s directorial debut.

In 2022, the actress mentioned wanting Tatum to star in the film before she met him. “I felt, even from afar, before I knew him, that he was a feminist and that he wasn't afraid of exploring that darkness, because he knows he's not that,” she told WSJ Magazine, referring to Tatum, in an interview. “That's why I was drawn to him and why I wanted to meet with him.”

Kravitz and Tatum initially developed a working relationship amid the film, but later ended up in a romantic one.

In January, Tatum gushed about his now fiance making her directorial debut in a sweet Instagram post saying, “MISS DIRECTOR LADY HERSELF IN ACTION!! ABSOLUTELY CRUSHING IT. CAN’T WAIT FOR YALL TO SEE.”

Blink Twice” hits theaters on Aug. 23.
