Davies says Tyler suffered from tuberculosis, which left her with scars on her lungs.
He says her love of cycling seems to help and, to have gone through all of that and to have sung for 50 years, is a “miracle”.
In 1967, she left school on a Friday and by Monday was working at a cash and carry.
He says she spent years singing with a hairbrush in front of a mirror, and soon entered a singing competition at a rugby club.
She came second and won just £1, singing Those were the Days by Mary Hopkin.
“She was hooked,” he says.
“The rest, as they say, is history.”
