Three TV presenters recognised for their involvement in an iconic BBC quiz show have announced they will be joining forces for a live show together.

Tennis legend Sue Barker hosted A Question of Sport for 24 years from 1997 until 2021. Over the years, a host of big names from the world of sport joined her on the show as team captains, including Frankie Dettori and Ally McCoist.

From 2004, rugby legend Matt Dawson joined her as a regular captain on the show, with former cricketer Phil Tufnell also joining proceedings from 2008. The three remained on the show until 2021 when it was announced that producers would be attempting to "refresh" the format with a new line-up.

The revised show, later hosted by Paddy McGuinness with panellists Sam Quek and Ugo Monye, ran for two seasons before it was axed last year.

Now, Sue, Matt and Phil have announced they will be coming together for a brand new A Question Of… Live tour which will feature some of the show’s most iconic rounds and test audiences on their sports knowledge.

Sue, 68, said of the upcoming tour: “I am thrilled to be reuniting with Matt and Phil. We love a quiz. We love a laugh. Can’t wait!”

The 11-date tour, which will take place in March next year, will see the trio joined on each date with ‘four A-list celebrity guests from the sporting world’. The tour will come to Manchester’s Palace Theatre on Saturday, March 22.

Matt, 51, said: “I am delighted to be going on tour with Sue and Tuffers and welcoming back some of our favourite sporting guests from over the years.”

And 58-year-old Phil, who won I’m a Celebrity back in 2003, added: “I can’t wait to get back on the road with the dream team of Sue, Matt and me! Good luck, Sue, in looking after Matt and me and all our great guests.”

A Question of… Live: The Tour

The A Question Of… Live tour promises to be a thrilling experience for fans of the show. The tour will feature a mix of familiar rounds and challenges, as well as some new elements that are sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The hosts will also share some behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes from their time on the show.

In addition to the quiz rounds, audiences will have the opportunity to test their own sporting knowledge. With the A Question Of… Live tour, fans can expect an evening of entertainment and laughter, and a chance to see the three presenters back together again.

A listing for the show says it will be an ‘exciting and hilarious’ live show based on the iconic quiz, featuring new elements and rounds and challenges familiar to viewers. In-between rounds, Sue, Matt and Phill will share stories from their careers and their time together alongside ‘lots of backstage gossip, untold stories and behind the scenes shenanigans’.

Tickets Available from Wednesday

Tickets will go on sale from Wednesday (October 9) at 10am via MyTicket. The tour is set to kick off in Brighton on March 1st and will continue across England in towns and cities including London, Oxford and Manchester. Audiences can expect to be entertained by the trio as they travel across the UK. The tour will culminate in Nottingham on March 23rd, where fans will be able to see the trio for the last time before they head back to their respective homes. The tour will visit Leicester’s De Montfort Hall on March 6th, where the trio will be joined by special guests. The tour will also visit the Palace Theatre in Manchester on March 22nd, where fans will have the chance to see the trio in action. For those who are unable to make it to any of the shows, the tour will be filmed and broadcast on the BBC in the coming months.

A spokesperson for MyTicket said: “We are delighted to be working with Sue, Matt and Phil on this exciting new tour. We know that there is a huge demand for tickets, so we encourage fans to book early to avoid disappointment.”

The tour promises to be a nostalgic trip down memory lane for fans of the show. With the return of some of the most iconic rounds and challenges, the tour will offer audiences a chance to relive some of their favourite moments from the show, with the added excitement of the live element. The show will also feature some new elements, so fans can expect a fresh and exciting take on the show that they know and love.
