AC/DC's Power Up Tour 2025: A Thunderous Return to North America

After a nine-year hiatus from North American stages, the iconic hard rock band AC/DC is back with their highly anticipated "Power Up" tour in 2025. This electrifying tour promises to deliver a high-voltage experience for fans across the continent, marking a monumental return for one of rock's most influential acts.

The Power Up Tour: Dates and Venues

The tour kicks off on April 10th at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will traverse the United States and Canada, culminating in Cleveland, Ohio on May 28th. The 13-stadium tour will include stops in major cities, giving fans ample opportunities to witness the legendary band's electrifying performance. Here is the complete list of dates and venues:

  • April 10 — Minneapolis, MN @ US Bank Stadium
  • April 14 — Arlington, TX @ AT&T Stadium
  • April 18 — Pasadena, CA @ Rose Bowl
  • April 22 — Vancouver, BC @ BC Place
  • April 26 — Las Vegas, NV @ Allegiant Stadium

  • May 24 — Chicago, IL @ Soldier Field
  • May 28 — Cleveland, OH @ Huntington Bank Field

The Band's Lineup and Legacy

The current lineup boasts the enduring presence of founding member and lead guitarist Angus Young, accompanied by the powerful vocals of Brian Johnson. Filling in for the founding rhythm guitarist, Malcolm Young who sadly passed away, is his nephew, Stevie Young. The rhythm section is completed by drummer Matt Laug and bassist Chris Chaney, both recent additions to the band. The continued success of the band is evident in their 2020 album, "Power Up," which shot to number one in 21 countries worldwide, and their 2022 Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.

This tour marks a significant milestone, not only for the band but also for fans. The original lead singer, Brian Johnson, was forced to step away in 2016 due to hearing issues, causing the band to seek a temporary replacement in Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses. Now, with Johnson's return, this is a much anticipated comeback for the band and their loyal fans.

A Half-Century of Rock

In 2025, AC/DC will also celebrate 50 years since the release of their debut album, "High Voltage." Their impact on the music industry is undeniable, boasting four singles with over a billion streams each on Spotify alone—"Highway to Hell," "Back in Black," "Thunderstruck," and "You Shook Me All Night Long." Their legendary status is solidified by their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, and the album "Back in Black" holding the title of best-selling album by any band ever, with over 50 million copies sold globally. It’s a testament to their lasting influence and enduring appeal.

Ticket Information and the Road Ahead

Tickets for the tour went on sale December 6th, 2024. The demand is expected to be immense, given the band’s long absence from North American stages and their continued global popularity. Fans are advised to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment, and only through official ticketing channels to avoid scams. It is worth noting that for the Cleveland show, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s educational programs.

The Encore: A Legacy Continued

The "Power Up" tour isn't just a series of concerts; it's a celebration of a band's enduring legacy, a testament to their unwavering commitment to their craft, and a chance for millions of fans to witness firsthand the electrifying energy of a band that has defined generations of rock music. From their electrifying shows in huge stadium venues to their contributions to the rock music world, this tour is set to be the perfect way for the band to start 2025 and further cement their status as one of the world's greatest rock bands. The sheer energy and excitement surrounding AC/DC’s upcoming tour highlights the band’s enduring global appeal and their remarkable contribution to the world of rock music. This is more than just a concert; it’s an event that will resonate for years to come. AC/DC, in their iconic style, will undoubtedly deliver an unforgettable experience for their fans across North America. The legacy of AC/DC will continue to inspire and excite fans around the world for decades to come. With the release of their new tour dates, this is a great opportunity for fans to come together and experience a shared cultural moment.
