Marcia Hines Rushed to Hospital After Medical Emergency
Australian Idol judge Marcia Hines was rushed to hospital after a medical emergency in her dressing room on the set of the reality series on Sunday.

A production source told East Coast media, "Marcia had a medical emergency and was rushed to hospital."
"She won't be on Idol tonight. Guy Sebastian filling in as judge."

Hines was believed to be in a stable condition.

"You will have spotted that we are missing someone very important and very special to the Idol important and very special to the Idol family. Unfortunately, Marcia is unwell and unable to join us tonight," she said.

Hines fellow judge Kyle Sandilands added: “Sorry, sorry. That’s a real downplay. She was taken out of here in an ambulance.”
“Just so that everyone knows. She’s fine. She’s well. But she didn’t just ring up with a headache. She went down.”
Hines' Health Condition
Hines has been a Type-1 diabetic for almost 40 years.
She told Now To Love in 2017, "Before I was diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes, my health and my body felt brilliant, but I wasn't eating properly."
"I was skipping meals. There'd be days when I didn't eat. I was losing oodles of weight. I was thirsty all the time, and, without being vulgar, I was peeing like a pregnant woman!"
Hines was diagnosed after a dental procedure refused to heal.
She said, "I wasn't sick, but I had a procedure done on one of my teeth and it just wouldn't heal – it just kept throbbing for days."
"I went to the doctor and that was when I was diagnosed with diabetes."
Hines said she manages her condition with insulin injections and insists, 'I could have a lot worse things than just diabetes.'
Hines' Career on Australian Idol
Hines was one of the original judges on Idol when it debuted Down Under in 2003.
She appeared on the singing competition as a judge during its first seven seasons, and she's taking her seat at the table once again.
She told the Daily Telegraph, "I was surprised and delighted because I really love that gig. I don't know if people realized how much it meant to me."
"Why? Because like me, they just want to sing, they want to find a career in singing," the pop star added.
The American-Australian star says that she can thank Australian Idol for heralding her career comeback.
She said, "I think Idol started the resurgence and then I kept being in people's consciousness, not too big, not too small, just a presence."
