The Chase host Bradley Walsh is certainly a recognisable face across the nation, along with his son Barney, who is a regular on the BBC medical drama, Casualty. But fans of the star, 64, were treated to a picture of his rarely seen daughter Hayley Walsh, who is the half sister of Barney. Bradley posed alongside his daughter and Barney in the picture which he shared with his social media followers. While Barney followed in his father's footsteps as he co-hosted the Gladiators reboot and now plays Cam in Casualty, Hayley has taken a completely different route.
The 42 year old, who Bradley shares with his ex partner Debbie Parker, works as an MAR reflexologist and now runs her own business. Hayley is a mum of one to a son named Dax, who was born as recently as 2021 and reportedly lives in Hertfordshire with her husband Tom and the family pooch, Ned.
Speaking of becoming a grandfather for the first time, he told Saga magazine: "I am a grandfather! My daughter and her husband Tom have had a baby boy who is coming up for five months old. It's been tricky as during lockdown no one could get to see their grandchildren. Thank God for FaceTime - it has kept people in touch.”
He added: "I'm going to be a brilliant grandfather because I've got this trick. When the baby grows into a toddler, make sure you spend plenty of time with them, feeding them ice cream and Coca-Cola, and then give them back at just the right time and say to your children, 'There you are, that's what you were like.' "
The Chase's Future
Despite a glittering career in showbiz which spans over decades, the TV star is now best known for presenting the ITV quiz show. He is set to mark 15 years on the show but it seems there is only one thing that would make him quit, and that is if viewers grew tired of the show's format. He told the Daily Mail: "Until people say they've had enough and start switching off I'll do it. We've had such an extraordinary time together. It's the best job in the world."
The Birth of the Show
Bradley recalled filming the pilot of the show back in 2008 with Shaun Wallace, who is known as The Dark Destroyer and Mark Labbett, who is best known as The Beast. Bradley said he saw potential in the format of the show but it was known that quizzes did not have a long shelf life.
He explained to The Express: "The audience was made up of ITV bosses and they found someone in the office to be a contestant. Straight away I took the contestant's side. I saw the Chasers as these big, all-knowing, bully types, so I started taking the mickey out of them."
He added: "When they got a question wrong I really gave it to them, and everyone was laughing. That's when I knew we had something. Normally with a quiz show you're handcuffed to the format, but this meant I could go off script and improvise. It was like doing stand-up in the middle of a quiz show, which I loved. So right from that very first run-through I thought this could be special."
Bradley's Family Ties
The photo, which was shared to Instagram, showcased the Walsh family's close bond. Bradley's caption on the picture simply read: "Just a normal day in the Walsh household." This post was met with great enthusiasm from fans who took to the comments to express their appreciation for the snapshot. It seems that the family has been enjoying a great deal of time together recently, as Bradley's wife Donna Walsh also shared a picture of the family enjoying a celebratory meal. It is clear that the Walsh family is a tight-knit unit who cherish spending time together.
