As a freshman in the 2009-10 season, she averaged 14.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, leading the Lady Bears to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The following season, she helped Baylor capture its first national championship, averaging 17.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game and earning Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors.

Over the next two seasons, Griner continued to dominate, leading Baylor to a runner-up finish in the 2012 NCAA Tournament and another national championship in 2013. She finished her collegiate career with an astounding 2,942 points, 1,485 rebounds, and 592 blocks.

Individual Accolades and Records

In addition to her team success, Griner earned numerous individual accolades during her NCAA career. She was named a consensus National Player of the Year three times, a four-time All-American, and the Big 12 Player of the Year twice. She also set numerous NCAA records, including most career blocks and most blocked shots per game.
