How to Get Tickets for Coldplay's Hull Shows

Rumors of the gigs at the home of Hull KR began circulating yesterday, as revealed by The Hull Story.

Coldplay's Hull Shows: A Boost for the City

Hull KR chief executive Paul Lakin said: “We are truly delighted to bring the world’s biggest band to east Hull.

“Sewell Group Craven Park will be rocking for two consecutive nights for the biggest show the city has ever seen.

“We can’t wait to proudly represent the whole region and North of England, as part of the only European dates announced outside of London.

“The stadium is no stranger to big acts, with Hull’s very own Beautiful South selling out 25,000 tickets in our 2017 City of Culture year, alongside other major concerts from The Who, Little Mix, Rod Stewart and Tom Jones. However, this is on another level, with Coldplay bringing their full, and same production that will be inside Wembley Stadium, nothing will be scaled back.

“We have a fantastic relationship with SJM Concerts, and we’d like to place on record our thanks to them for making this happen, for what is set to be two very special nights.”

Leader of Hull City Council, Councillor Mike Ross, said: “This announcement is fantastic for Hull.

“To have a world-renowned act such as Coldplay performing in Hull really demonstrates how the city has become a culture and tourism destination.

“I have no doubt that residents right across the city will be extremely excited by this huge news.

“Whilst I am sure everyone who attends will enjoy themselves, we also hope the city benefits economically and more whilst Coldplay joins us in Hull.”

A Commitment to Supporting Grassroots Music

In a statement, the Glastonbury headliners confirmed ten per cent of the proceeds from the shows will be donated to the Music Venue Trust which supports grassroots venues and artists in the UK. The band also confirmed half of the tickets for the Hull shows would go to local fans, dependent on them having an HU, YO, DN or LN postcode, to mark their first concert in the city.
